Woven baskets characterized by a particular distinctive pattern have previously been found only in the immediate vicinity of the prehistoric village of Palea and therefore were believed to have been unique to the Palean people. Recently, however, archaeologists discovered such a "Palean" basket in Lithos, an ancient village across the Brim River from Palea. The Brim River is very deep and broad, and so the ancient Paleans could only have crossed it by boat, but there is no evidence that the Paleans had boats. And boats capable of carrying groups of people and cargo were not developed until thousands of years after the Palean people disappeared. Moreover, Paleans would have had no need to cross the river the woods around Palea are full of nuts, berries, and small game. It follows that the so-called Palean baskets were not unique to Palea.

Secondly, even if the Brim River is hard to cross, the author ignores it is highly possible that other factors the Palean people had other means to arrive in Lithos. Paleans could reach outside by bridge, by horse, even by foot. Brim River is a truly obstacle between the two village and hard to traverse. However, perhaps there were a wood bridge which constructed by ancestor to contact each other convenient. Or perhaps Palean could cross by a ford where was not so far way to Brim River. As a result, the author should point out whether Palea village have other means to Lithos that could more convinced to me.

Thirdly, although Paleans have full of nuts, berries and small game it is unfairly assumes that they would not need to contacts with outsides. Whether one place could self-sufficiency or not, it also need to associate with other by trade, culture, intermarriage and so forth. For instance, in medieval Europe where was rich and prosperous and independence, they also need to contact with another country by sailing. Only based on the location which is food enough could not support that they would need to cross the river to get in touch with Lithos.

In sum up, to make it more convincing, the arguer would have to provide more evidence concerning on both environment and the development about Palea’s in ancient time. In addition, when support his argument the author should be point out more sufficient evidences.
