The mission of university never change to bring more talent intellectuals into our society improving our both material and spiritual world. To accomplish this goal, we exert numerous energy and finance on update the scale of our university. During the process, we hear some divarications about supporting the development of a global university which is designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems. From several points, I think we should have more considering about the assertion?




What is the standard of global university and how can we achieve that? The conception of university has changed a lot since it comes up into our society, from normal teaching working skill to comprehensive curriculum to make us choose what we want. The change comes from our long time exploration. Same as before, there is also not a discipline out there for us telling about how to be a global university. We can not do something without knowing it. Not knowing requirements of admission, how could you make sure that you can get into the university you dream about? And no one can give us a well-rounded explanation of global university, not even mention to build a one.





And the answer to accomplish this goal of global university is still in our mind. Not all nations are capable of supporting the development of a global university, if it does exist, we should know it can cost a lot from our taxpayers. In consequence, we may wonder whether it is worth for us to do that at the cost of so much money or resources. Before you dive into water, you should figure out the depth of it first. Some companies also lost much property in searching for new market only due to partial thinking of potential. Is the tantamount to the cost? No one can tell. Comparing with putting more assets on something that you are not familiar, it would be much wise to pay more attention on the universities surrounding us.





It is not even necessary to establish a global university with the students who engage in solving the world's most persistent social problems. Look around the world. The persistent issue that haven't been resolved are much more complicated and hard handling, besides, the essence to solve these problems is not about quantity and quantity of the persons who is facing it, but much more about comprehension and tolerance, which means we should comprehend what the others suffer and what the others do. From this point, the normal university also can bear this task. If we can buy same thing from a lower price, no one will choose the hight price. On the other hand, allowing more universities in its small scale, it also benefits for them to focus on the domains and delve more into them.





At last, the task to engage into solving the world's most persistent social problems is not related with a global university , moreover, the reason why we should not ask government to support the development of global university is that we still not know what we can really get from them. On the contrast, it would be better to focus on our existing small ones to make each of them work well.
