TOPIC: ARGUMENT142 - The article entitled 'Eating Iron' in last month's issue of Eating for Health reported that a recent study found a correlation between high levels of iron in the diet and an increased risk of heart disease. Further, it is well established that there is a link between large amounts of red meat in the diet and heart disease, and red meat is high in iron. On the basis of the study and the well-established link between red meat and heart disease, we can conclude that the correlation between high iron levels and heart disease, then, is most probably a function of the correlation between red meat and heart disease.

The argument told us that from the plausible reasons and deductions, it concludes that the correlation between high iron levels and heart disease is most probably a function of the correlation between red meat and heart disease. By probing further more, we can see there are many flaws in this statement.

Although, we found the correlation between hight levels of iron in the diet and an increased risk of heart disease, there is no further more evidence that high level of iron results in heart disease. We can not simply just attribute heart disease to the reason that high iron level just because to some degree it prompts the increasing heart disease. There maybe also something else in diet that can increase the risk of heart disease.

Following the passage, the last consumption also mislead us attribute the responsibility of red meat that cause heart disease to the high levels of iron in it. Red meat also has most other components that may cause the disease. We can not simply give such a hasty decision without think about other possible factors. Maybe protein or fat in red meat cause this disease more easily than iron.

On the other hand, the study said that large amounts of red meat are essential, in other words, if the amount is small, there will be no more effect. Is that right? If so, once more, it can document that you can eat less no matter if it is high in iron level. It just betrays what the first surveys about high levels in diet.

Further more, how could you be so sure about this survey, without telling concrete details. Being absent form more background, it can not convince us as much as they thought. Diet in the fist survey doesn't not mean read meat in the second one. The high level of iron may work in others like fruits, vegetables fish or something else, but in red meat, it just doesn't work.

In summary, we can not agree what the author said and integrate all the facts he provided, we just can not get a further more conclusion but separate parts.
