144.TOPIC:"It is the artist,not the critic,who gives society something of lasting value."

    The statement asserts that lasting value,a sort of support that influence the works composed afterward for years as well as human's life,is contributed by artist but not critic.I wholeheartedly approve of it.
    First of all,artists are the architects that create the compositon.Not only do they conceive and take down the works but also convey it in a sense of beauty,which produce a far-reaching effect.Critics are the man who make comments to works that have been created by artists.They appear to be authorities who are to have a bird's eye view of artistic
production.Ironically,they can hardly create value to society by their own.They parasitize artists.Critic coexists with
artist.This signifies that it is artists that are able to furnish lasting value to society but not critics.
    On the other hand,the commentary of the critic is objective in some cases.Everyone has his own standard of beauty.Some
may praise warmly on an issue while others are likelihood of detesting on the same one.There exits an unbiased
justice.History is laden with critics commenting works unilaterally proved to be wrong that turned out stunningly
significant.Voltaire's rejection of Shakespeare as barbaric because he did not conform to neo-classical principles of
unity.Or,consider the complete dismissal of Beethoven's music by the esteemed critics of his time.The art critic's judgment
is limited by the narrow confines of old and established parameters for evaluation.Moreover,critical judgment is often
misguided by the ego.
    Admittedly,every coin has two sides.Critics do have some positive effect on art as well as the value of society.Human beings inherently are eager to be cited,so as to artists.They want their works to be accepted by others.Facing the criticism of critic,artists may suspect their style of art.As a consequance,they cast aside their type in order to purchase compliment,which has a possibility to impetus the development of art,and contributes to the lasting value of society indirectly.
    In sum,artists come into existence ahead of critics.In order to give lasting value to society,critics have to rely on
artists,notwithstanding their points might not reflect the truth.Artists are the ones who are able to provide lasting value to human beings.
