2.27 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? To be well-informed people should get information from many different sources.

In the information era, a growing number of sources insert sorts of information involving various areas into people. In this condition, I admit that these different sources play essential roles in the progress of society. Nevertheless, to be well-informed people do not need get information from numerous sources, but only two pathway— Internet and books.

Admittedly, there is no denying that as the development of technology, more and more informational sources benefit people’s daily live. In consideration of some advanced techniques, to name a few, Internet, TV, radio and so forth, all of these tools enrich people’s live and broaden people’s mind. An example about the TV, during the 2008 Olympic Games, thousands of people receive the real-time information about it via TV. Accordingly, to be a well-informed people, the prerequisite must be getting the ample and real-time information. In this condition, sometime TV cannot satisfy people’s requirement due to its limited programs.

From personal perspective, considering the short-coming of TV, even the radio and so on, I am convincing that the Internet would be a perfect methods for people to get the latest info. Common experience informs us that the Internet contains huge information about almost every realm, ranging from Astronomy and Geology to Chemistry and Physics. In particular, scientists would like to announce their latest inventions and paper on the Internet. Accordingly we can receive the information from the Internet, sometimes, which is free. Furthermore, lots of news involving sport, entertainment and politics would be found on the Internet.

Besides the Internet, books are also effective source for people to gain a series of information which can hardly be seeked on the Internet. In other words, some person would much prefer the printed books, but regard the Internet as an auxiliary tool. To some extent, book, as the main vehicle of human intelligence, exerts positive effect in the process of the growth of society. Particularly, parts of important information cannot be exposed to the mass, thus cannot be obtained from any other methods. What is more, people have to admit that parts of information for the TV, Internet and so on, is untrue. Correspondingly, books would be a necessary tool helping people tell the truth.

Ultimately, I agree with the statement that lots of sources provide people a great deal of information and enrich people’s mind. However, personally deeming that to be a well-informed people, the source consisted of Internet and book is enough for people to learn what they want.
