70"In any profession—business, politics, education, government—those in power should step down after five years. The surest path to success for any enterprise is revitalization through new leadership."

In most formal organization, such as business, politics, education and government, leadership which sometimes can influence the entire enterprise has obtained increasing emphasis. Therefore, a number of people assert that for the interests of organizations, the term of service of leaders should be as long as possible. However, every enterprise has better adopt an appropriate mechanism of replacement of leaders.

First of all, a relatively long term of office of office of leadership would be detrimental to many organizations. The possibility that the existing leaders are no longer competence to conduct one organization to achieve outstanding accomplishment, or even unable to make their organization survive in current severe and cut-throat competition is not remote. Therefore, in order to protect the interest of all members of one organization and the healthy development of one enterprise, a periodic replacement of upper management seemed coherently reasonable. Moreover, what if those existing leaders are not as prudent as our previous anticipation? For instance, could a company enjoy a steady if its leaders only appoint the members of their kin as chief managers or always express domineering and scornful attitudes towards their subordinates?

In addition, a relatively reasonable length of term of service, say five years, could orient organizations to an exciting and encouraging prospect. We know that a significant part of reason that why many seemingly giant and peerless organizations end up in collapse is that their established rules and ideas has not came up with the rapid development of outside world. So, if one organization could appoint a new set of leaders periodically, the organization could be injected multiple fresh ideas. For instance, a prestigious university could more welcomed by students if the university invites famous scholars or educators, who could provide the school various advanced researches and new way of education and promote some disciplines, as its chancellors. Besides, the mechanism that those who are in power should step down periodically could warn them that they could not be in charge permanently and encourage them to conduct a brilliant work and then enable them to cherish their opportunity to be a leader.

Nonetheless, replacing upper managers too frequently is not a favorable approach to many enterprises because of the possibilities that an unwise replacement would disturb multiplex formulated previously and some new leaders probably do not realize their organization profoundly. So it is a reasonable length of term of service that accounts.

In conclusion, too long or too short replacement of upper managers of one organization both could not bring benefits to the development of the enterprise, but an appropriate revitalization through new leadership could successfully guide one profession to a bright future.
