With the fast development of society and technology, education, which is considered to be the source power of social development, has been emphasized more than ever. Some people believe that students should take what they're taught because it save them time, while other people hold the view that students should posses the quality of skepticism. With all due respects considered, I believe we should call a balance between these two views of which both have merits.

First of all, accepting what they are taught save students the time which has been spent by their antecedence. In the process of studying, we often record some important conclusions, which can not easily be derived, for further use, that is what we call experiences. Experiences prevent us from getting involved in the same puzzle again and again and help us tackle new problems easily. By taking what they are taught in class, students would be able to focus their attention on developing new skills or doing exercises. For example, as we all know, China posseses the most talented students in High School as well as College mainly because students in China are instilled with lots of courses and exercises from they are young.

However, studying without any skepticism is by no means the correct way, as can be indicated from the example that rarely great scientists can be cultivated in China due to exactly the same reason above, most students, although talented, only know how to accept but not how to think. Skepticism is the key to independent and critical thinking, which is the most important part of genuine education. As pointed out by the famous Socrates in two thousands years ago, education is not instilling the stuffings into a person, but rather eclicting the knowledge out of him. We should look into ourselves and find the spark of truth that god has put into every heart, that only ourselves can kindle to the flame.

Skepticism lets us understand the knowledge we learn better and pave the way for creating new knowledge. Although it seems a waste of time to suspect the old theory, we can reinforce our understanding about a topic by substantiate our suspect which we finally find wrong. What's more, sometimes skepticism on previous theory helps us building a new one. The great German Mathematician Rieman would never have create his immortal work of Riemannian Geometry if he always believed that the Eucleadean Geometry can never be wrong and should not be broken. Education without developing the quality of skepticism is a complete failure. However, we should not spend too much time on suspecting the existing theory which would easily leads to agonosticism. Usually we do not posses the knowledge to susepct everything, which will bring us nothing enlightening but wasting of time and disappointment.

To sum up, both taking knowledge and skepticism play important roles in the process of education. The former saves us time and while the latter enables us to think critically. A balance should be called between these two ways and neither should be over exaggerated.

153"Students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively."

With the fast development of society and technology, education, which is considered to be the source power(如果要讲原动力的话,可以用implusion, source power一般指功率) of social development, has been emphasized more than ever. Some people believe that students should take what they're taught because it save them time, while other people hold the view that students should possess the quality of skepticism. With all due respects considered, I believe we should call a balance between these two views of which both have merits(改个从句出来更通:between these two views, which both have merits).

First of all, accepting what they are taught save students the time which has been spent by their antecedence. In the process of studying, we often record some important conclusions, which can not easily be derived, for further use, that is what we call experiences(个人感觉如果非要把这句话放到前一句中,那就加个--吧).

Skepticism is the key to independent and critical thinking, which is the most important part of genuine education(?).

Although it seems a waste of time to suspect the old theory, we can reinforce our understanding about a topic by substantiate our suspect which we finally find wrong(怀疑旧理论从来没有错,这个观点最好换种方式阐述).

The former saves us time (and) while the latter enables us to think critically. A balance should be called between these two ways and neither should be over exaggerated.
