The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives.
History has long been considered the mirror of human itself. The study of history that is relevant to our daily life surely benefit us great value, however, those non-daily-life history may also contribute us a lot which we may use history itself to confirm.
To begin with, learning about great human achievements of the past provides inspirations. if I can see further than Descartes, it is because the sake of standing on the shoulders of giants, said by Sir Isaac Newton, one of the greatest scientist in human history, has clearly demonstrate the ideal that the achievement of antecessors or seniors can inspire us continue the long journey of innovation that remains in front. So many instances lay in the river of history that is hardly to list them up. For instance, the ideology of democracy created by Montesquieu inspires Thomas Jefferson, the founder also the third president of United States, to innovate it and write the Declaration of Independence. Another example, Da Vinci, the perfect representative of the Renaissance in whole Europe, was the first person to draw the structure of bicycle, robot and so on. Yet, the designs did not come into product in his life time because of the limitation of material and technology, it show the vista that what our life can be and finally imagination become fact due to the work of later generations. Ancestors dated life and events as dairy which inspired their sons to follow the custom, improving and innovating what has been achieved, so did by their grandson and son of grandson, finally join in the work written this endless book—history. In short, studying human history can help us understand and appreciate more about the morals, values, and ideals of the past cultures and increase the level of our civilization.

The second to indicate that the mistake of past can teach us as a society how to avoid repeating these mistakes. There are devastations and disasters happened which seem uncontrollable or avoidable while the fact is mistakes repeat regularly in the history of mankind. After signed the peace documents between France and Germany, Foch, one of the most famous generator of France during the First World War, say that this is not peace, but 20 years break. And History indicated what he said, just after 20 years, the Second World War ultimately outbreak. The Paris Peace Conference finally becomes a joke because history has told us that the anger caused by the unfair dividends between the winner and loser has deeply rooted in the soul of German. History provides us the dated experience as well as gives us choices to select. So when something happened between the US and the USSR in Cuba, the result was different since both countries want to release the pressure and eliminate another world war. In brief, mistakes in history valued a lot for they can help us avoid repeating these mistakes.
The last but not the least, history plays an important role in our daily life. The movie Beowulf is an epic of northern Europe; the film Troy is the history of the war between Greece and Troy, while Brave Heart documented the history of Scotland independence. These films decorate our lives while they not the history our daily lives. Moreover, not only films but also other parts, like tourists attractions, transportation related to history, play fundamental parts in our everyday lives. History makes our lives more colorful, more interesting and more enjoyable.
In sum, from what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that not merely the study of the history that is relevant to our daily lives values, but the achievements and the mistakes also benefit and teach us to build a better society together with a brighter future.

只是有些不明白的是，文中前几段的论证貌似也是日常生活的抽象，为何倒数第二段再去写日常生活呢？
请教大虾，怎样才能恰当的衔接上事例呢？特别是一段中论证太多，感觉再加事例就太长了，影响后面，小弟正苦恼这个。。。:funk:
