Nowadays, there is a heated debate with sharply soaring volume on whether university students should take basic science courses no matter what they are in favor of. Some individuals hold the view that all the college students ought to select basic science courses. From my perspective, I suggest that university students should take courses in terms of their interest, rather than be forced to take basic science courses, which they do not favor.

Initially, students should schedule their courses according to their interest and major.: o8 H# E$ ?+ X) ?1 J
If all university students are forced to take basic science courses, it will result in some negative phenomenon [造成现象这个搭配不太好]to the students who show no interest in these sorts of courses. For one thing, since the basic science courses are not selected by the students themselves [out of their own minds,] most of them will not try their best in the course and they even would like to take other courses they are keen on, rather than attend in these basic science courses. For example, in my university, all the students let alone[vi.不可加宾语] our major, [we all前面已经有主语了这里可以省去] have to take math courses when we are freshmen. A large number of students skip the course[skip class, course课程是不能翘的] due to their interest in other field of courses[这个例子的表达不过好]. For another, for some diligent students whose major are literature or art, it will be a burden for them to take basic science courses, due to their demanding assignment in their major classes and the weakness in these science courses compared to students whose major are science and technology[楼主你的阐述很绕,本来很简单的意思,写出来就让人感觉隔了一层]. So it is not very appropriate for all university students to take basic science courses, regardless of their field of concentration.2 y# b" M, h3 z9 I) r

Moreover, it will bring extra teaching burden to the faculties if all university students take basic science courses. For instance, in my university, the level of students in basic science courses of different majors can be quite distinct[不同专业的同学的自然科学课程是有区别:For example, there is obvious distinction about the level of basic science courses among different majors in my university我觉得这样会自然一点。个人意见]. Thus, it will increase the pressure of the teachers if they want all the students to be well acquired what they have conveyed to them. Professors[professor这句是具体描述应该紧跟for example. 然后,前面那句thus,提到后面做总结] have to prepare materials and exams with varying degrees of difficulty for students in different majors. It is widely acknowledged that basic science courses play a crucial role in university education, especially for those who major in science and technology. However, for those students whose enthusiasm is art and literature, it will be already adequate if they acquire the basic science knowledge through TV or internet in their daily life.
To sum up, as what has been concerned above, hardly can I agree with the statement that all university students, regardless of their field of concentration, should take basic science courses due to the negative effects on their study and the pressure to the faculties which it will bring[最后这句太绕了,没必要]
[总之,文章的用词句型都足够丰富,需要加强的是论证层次和句意表达。]
