3.10: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Improving schools is the most important factor in successful development of country.

Nowadays people in growing number are coming to realize the importance of development of our country. Some people believe that improving schools is the most important factor in successful development of country. As far as I am concerned, I disagree with this viewpoint due to the various sound and specific reasons I will clarify and maintain in the following passages.

First of all,I believe that more attention should be paid to the distinction between the poor and the rich in our country.
it is universally acknowledged that our country is still a developing country right now, and some part of the country is developing much more swift than other part of it. So it is high time that the government should take more effective measures and make appropriate regulations to maintain the development of the rich regions and accelerate the development of the poor zones.

In addition, the authority should pay more attention to the environment of our country. With the development of industrial and economy, more and more citizens have bought cars instead of taking a bus or subway to go to work everyday. As a result , we can see a lot of polluted air and hear tremendous noise when we are walking in the street. We should also put more emphasize on the severe lack of energy all over the country. Only in this way can we make the country a better place for people to live.

Finally, we should also improve the medical care of the country in terms of the growing number of older people. The medical rule of our country is not very integrated and a huge number of people do not have the access to the medical care for free. So proper regulations for these sort of people should be made in order to sustain their health when they retire.

Schools do play a essential role in the development of a country because of the wisdom “Knowledge is power”. However, as is mentioned above, the factors concerned above are absolutely crucial ones in the successful development of a country.

With the rapid development of social economy, the factor that how to make good use of money is becoming a heated conversation among people. Some people hold the view that we should spend the money on traveling and vacation, while others argue that money should be saved for the future. As far as I am concerned , I suppose that we should store the money for future exploit instead of spend it on vacation.

There are distinct uses for the youngsters and the old people considering how to spend the money appropriately.

For our young people , we should make good use of the money we have obtained. The money in our pockets is either what we have earned due to our effort in the part-time job or the scholarship from our university. Both of the resources of the money are the result of our hardworking effort.  As a result , we should spend the money on such aspects which can better promote ourselves. For example, we can use the money to the investment of learning another technology, which will definitely be of essential help in seeking for our jobs when we graduate fro university since manipulating a new technology is so crucial right now. However , what if we spend the money on traveling or vacation? We do have enjoyed some scenery, but our brains are blank and we have not obtain anything helpful on our study or career. So it is more proper to save money for future use such as learning and working.

For the older people, I believe that their money should be also saved for future use. Generally speaking , older people should pay pore attention to their health as they are getting older and older. They can use the money to buy health insurance to maintain their health when they are sick. Also, they can spend the money in participating in the physical training in the gym every week. Only in this way can they make their body to be in good condition and there will be fewer chances for them to get sick.

From what have been concerned, we may draw a conclusion that people should save money for future rather than spending on traveling or vacation.

3.12: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?  The purpose of television should all be educative, not entertain.

Nowadays, there is a heated topic with sharply soaring volume about the role which television is playing in our daily life. Some people hold the view that purpose of television should all be educative, not entertain. As far as I am concerned, I deem that there should be purpose of entertain, rather than merely educative effect. In the following passages, I will use specific and sound reasons to maintain and clarify my point of view.

Initially, there is no doubt that television is playing a significant role in people’s daily life, especially in the aspect of education field. There are considerable programs which are made for students or people who are in need of training themselves in variety of fields such as English study, the manipulation of computer, and so on. Also, there are a huge amount of programs that are beneficial for the common people, which will teach them how to manage their money more efficiently and how to keep healthy when they are getting older. A study produced recently shows that nearly twenty percent of the programs have something to with education in China. So we can see the essential part television is playing in the field of education.

However, we may ignore the irrefutable fact that what else we need television to bring for us. That is just entertainment. For example, when you come back home after a day’s work, what you desire will be a leisure time at home. The atmosphere you are longing for is the isolation of boring work and strict rules in the office. Therefore, it will be a fantastic moment if there are recreation programs in television which can release you all of the tired feeling and make you relaxed. According to the survey by the city government, some researchers point out that the programs which are always ranking in the first place of the audience ratings are entertain ones, rather than education programs or other sorts. Thus, there is no deny that programs of entertain have attracted people’s eyes more than other ones.

Additionally, we can get education not only by television, but by internet, newspaper and books, etc. With the development of technology, the function of internet is more and more important in our life. Internet is better than television in educative function in many ways. For instance, a student who wants to go abroad to study will have more convenient access to learning English at any time in any places. However，television programs are strictly broadcasted at a fixed time. Also the student can input the words and click the mouse to easily obtain the knowledge which is helpful to him or her. But it is not so convenient and efficient to get these information by television. In this way, television can be introduced more other kinds of programs such as entertainment ones to increase the audience ratings.

In short, from what have been concerned above, I suppose that television should not all be educative, but can be entertain as well.

I see toxic mind by the chinese way of english education. Some of the arguements seems reluctant and not so logical. Absolutely haven't been checked in 'word' wich wasted me some time.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?  Most business people are motivated only by the desire of money

Nowadays there is a heated debate on the topic that what the motivation of business people is. Some individuals hold the view that it is the desire of money that motivates business people. As far as I am concerned, I deem that there are various factors that force the business people to embark on their career, rather than only the desire of money.

Initially it is universally acknowledged that people’s purpose of working is mainly for earning money in order to feed on the whole family. So the purpose of the business people is also to make a living by managing a company or selling goods. However, there are considerable business people who are not only motivated by money, but by their great interest in the career on which they take. For instance, it is widely known that Bill Gates set up the Microsoft Company from which people have benefited a lot during the past decades. But do you know how Gates set up Microsoft? When he was junior, he stepped out of university to establish the Microsoft Company merely due to his enthusiasm in computer, even failing to accomplish his university. The Microsoft Company has now become one of the biggest corporations in the world and has brought a great deal of benefit to people all over the world, at the same time substantial fortune to Bill Gates himself. Thus, we should recognize that it is the keen for computer that makes Bill Gates a millionaire rather than the desire of money.

Furthermore, the reason why many business people choose their occupation in the commercial field is that they are willing to make contribution to their country. Take Yu Min hong, the manager of the New Oriental Union in China, for example. When he graduated from university, he realized that the situation of English teaching and learning in China was so bleak at that time. As a result, he made up his mind to seek better approach to teach English for hundreds of thousands of students who are longing for grasping better English in order to studying overseas. In this way, he began to teach TOEFL for ten hours each day and after several years of efforts, we witness the successful accomplishment of the New Oriental Union. Hence, there is no doubt that YU was stimulated by his desire of bringing a better condition to the English study students in China, rather than the desire of money.

To sum up, as what has been clarified above, I disagree with the statement that most business people are motivated only by the desire of money.
