Admtielly, it is artist who gives society most valuable things. However, what has critic does should not be ignored. In general, those people's critic evaluations help artist improve their work and make it easier for us to understant what information conveyed in pieces of art. Without critic, no one can tell directly which art is the most precious.
At every bignning, the artists create a great number of art influenced our society in aspects such as human's spirit, the value of beauty and somthing else. What is more, they rich our daily instead of working all day long in the offices. We can have a pure relax right before sleep or in the free time. Furthermore, to the history, the art transfers the most inportant information into other forms which can be transported to next generations and remembered forever.  For example, it is a common way for teenagers learn the history by movies and novels. These kinds of art presents what happened years before in a vivid way attracting the young. Music like classical ones can improve our appreciating level. On the other hand, workers and students can relaease their great pressure by listening to the pop music which may also make them exctited leading they to work and study effectively.
Then, does anybody has thought about how can we understand the massges in art clearly and tell which of these art is real worhty to save? I think this is contributed by the critics. Every time, when a new piece of art com into being, critics will judge and examine it from all sides. Take paintings as example, after the born of a new one, critics will evaluate in aspects like color, content, position of each subject and their relationship. Then, they would suggest its painter that what is the problem. Therefore, it might be modified in order to make it conveys the idea more clearly and looke perfect. As we all know, the art  is something express the feeling of the artists, but it also need to be understood by ordinary citizens. So, for this reason, the artist can not create too freely avoiding misunderstanding and the critic is that person suggest artists to make some changes for widely known.
To us, who apperaciate art, the use of critic is more impertant. We can not exactly analysize the information and messages from the art especially the makes' feeling. But luckily, with the help of critics, we are able to understand it well and evaluate more professinal. For instance, what did Beathoven want to tell us and what did he feel when creating the 'Moon Light'? If there is no one helping us maybe we can only feel the peace of night. But after the critics introduction, we know that he did not become crazy even though he no longer listened to the music. Thereby, we can conclude the importance of the critic in our understanding.
To sum it up, when thank the artist giving world something of lasting value, we should also need to admit the influence of the critic who develop the art making it much better.
