As a part of the society, children, just likes adults, are socialized. How adults act in society is making changes of society now, and the actions of children, the will-be adults in the future, will change the future society. Since adults' ways of thinking and acting are deeply influenced by the recognition of society they biult when they were children, it is rational to say that how children are socialized today determines, to a large degree, if not totally, the destiny of society.
The aguer above has got a clear sight of the point. And he thinks the way we raise children now not successful. It is quite true that children need guidance during their growing up. Their relatively low ability of comprehension partially disabled them to correctly and extensively value the things around. Either no or inapropriate guidance may lead to psychological problems which has a
potential possibility to negatively influence the children, especially in the current society, where informations spread extremely fast though a variety of media, making it impossible for parents and other children educators to provide a wholly safe environment out of all dark sides of human society. With the appearance of younger and younger internet explorers, children are facing a higher risk of absorbing informations related with violence, sex, alcohole and drugs. If no one comes to explained to them what these things are and what roles they play in society, the children may be misled by such informations, involving in those activites and damaging the society in the future. Sadly, most parents and school teachers now just command the children to be away of those things without explaining why, which let children's curiosity exceeds the fear of disobeying adults.
But from my perspective, we have already learned some of the efficient methods raising children. We are not doing that bad. More and more families, schools and regions begin to cultivate children in a more open way. They provide the children with all kinds of learning resources, encourage innovative ideas. They focus on children's intelligences as well as their emotional intelligences, which is said to be important in people's social ability in researches. We are making progresses both theoratically and practically.
Actually, how children are socialized depends not only on how we raise children, but also on what the society is like. In some middle-east countries, where nearly everyone has a worship of war and violence, children will unavitablly influenced by the scences they see. Society's influence casted on adults will also teach and lead children to establish a habit of solving problems with violence. So it is most likely that the future of these countris will be full of gun and fire, unless a new order is established.
To conclued, children are the majority and the pushing force for future society. We are not doing the best but making progresses in raising children and preparing them for helping bring about a brighter future. Within the virtuous cycle, a better society, in turn, will contribute to more efficient education of children. |
