求拍~
TOPIC: ISSUE185 - "Scandals-whether in politics, academia, or other areas-can be useful. They focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could."

老土得很,总起,1,政治丑闻,2,社会企业丑闻 3,不良丑闻的不良影响
Scandals are negative information about a celebrity or famous objects which are detested and welcome at the same time. Some scandals can ruin people's whole life, while others promote the popularity of the objects by increasing their exposures to the public. In either way, with the impact they bring to the society scandals can shift public attentions on problems that were previously neglected or concealed by parties concerned, thus impel efforts to solve the problems. In this sense, scandals are really helpful.
The most influential impact come from political scandals because they could breed substantial political changes that may not be achieved through doctrinarism or incremental reform. Officials' defalcation prevail in China, but little has the situation been improved until last year, when scandal of an official regaling cigarettes which worth thousands of money diffused on the Internet. The official was fiercely attacked for appropriating public funds for personal enjoyment and was soon dismissed. Throughout history, cases in which presidents of nations are disposed by morally unacceptable scandals are abundant. Nixon was forced to resign after the famous Watergate scandal, which drew world wild attention on leadership ethics and supervision. Sensational scandals of corruptive officials are mostly favored by news media--people like to see bad guys getting caught. By revealing those political scandals and evoking public antagonism towards political derelict behavior, media can really serve as important tool of public supervision.
are also conducive to positive changes. Entrepreneurs forgot business ethics and national regulations, while scandals can give them warnings and remind them. In 2007 melamine was found in milk powders made in China. The news threw an atom bomb into the Chinese society and quickly shifted public attention on previously neglected area—food security. After a long period investigation into the scandal, media revealed that the whole milk powder industry had seriously violated food security regulations and had connived in the melamine excess. Later the government enforced stricter law on food inspection and the food industry was more cautious ever since. If this scandal had not been disclosed by the report of melamine milk affected infants, food security would probably remain a distant topic for Chinese people and the industry would continue tread on public health.
However, a coin has two sides. While the society on the whole can benefit from scandals in the long run, some people fell as victims of scandal, especially illusive scandals—rumors. Lu wuxuan, the prime minister of Korean, committed suicide after the scandal of his families' defalcation was exposed. He himself was believed to have no direct relation to those defalcations. Lu was murdered by unbearable pressure induced by rumors. Women are even more fragile in a scandal. In the spring of 2008, some private photos of sexual life of Chen Guanxi, a Hong Kong singer, was posted on the internet. Female artists in those photos suffered from severe public criticism and are forced to give up their career in the entertainment field. This incident has showed the public the dissolute lifestyle of certain artists, but some people accused the man who stole those pictures from Chen and popularized them for encroaching on individual privacy. Those scandals are based on incomplete or even false information, ignorance of human rights, and most importantly, are of little value to the benefit of the society, can be devastating and should be carefully prohibited.
In sum, scandals are helpful in many aspects for rousing public awareness for new social crisis, still it is important to fight against fake scandals and distinguish scandals from rumors in private sphere.

In my opinion, you did a good job!
