第一篇全文Issue144 希望给予指正和建议

我是4.13号的机考，拖到了前天才开始准备的。压迫自己写了第一篇文章，磨蹭了三个小时。之后改语法错误和单词拼写以及润色又用去一个小时。贸然把自己的拙作放上，希望的诸位先行者能够根据我现在的情况给予一些复习方向、时间安排和侧重的建议！谢谢了！
我的情况：寒假新东方上过。
              目标分数：4。
              每天可分配时间：5H（连续），另外有零碎时间可以用来过题库和背例子
              机考时间：4.13.

I144："It is the artist, not the critic,* who gives society something of lasting value."
*a person who evaluates works of art, such as novels, films, music, paintings, etc.

In our daily life, there are various kinds of wonderful works created by gifted artists, such as novels, films, music, paintings, etc. All of us are benefit a lot from them. As a result, the importance of artist in the society is highly emphasized by some people, who believe something of lasting value is only given by the artist, rather than the critic. But as I'm concerned, the efforts and differences critics make should not be overlooked. Indeed, at some levels, the critic is as important as or even more important than artist to our society.

Admittedly, the artist becomes almost indispensable for our society. Using their paintings, painters can preach the true love, a kind of essential human nature, which have a significant influence on stable and peace of the whole word. And film artist could display a living while total different world to the people living in different countries and then make them feel the existence of each other. What’s more, through their symphony or song, Musicians and singers can give great encouragement and conciliate the person who is born to be disable or still struggling from extremely poverty. To conclude, Different artists make different contribution in different ways to our society and hence bring us something full of lasting value.

However, admitting the importance of the artist does not mean to deny the importance of the critic in our society. Critics influence the society in some other ways that is varied from artists'.

Critics are very important to keep the balance and harmony of our society. It is known to all of us, our society still have lots of problems to be solved. And the critic is just the one who cares most about the problems which are the most radical and also the most difficult ones. For supporting examples, the critic often accuses the magnate that they should take more care about the pauper or disables rather than themselves. One more instance, it is the critics that dare to directly condemn the chiefs of the countries called military super power for their unjustifiable actions, which are about intervening other countries' internal affairs by force for maximizing their own interests. In spite of the cases, the meaningful functions of critic go without saying. Critics are the fighters, who are never afraid of any evil and will criticize anything illegal or inequitable incisively.

On the other hand, critics can help the artists do a better job. In some cases, what the artists have created may not be worth learning. For example, some books are written to transmit information about crime of violence. In order to attract more eyes, some TV shows report inauthentic news. And some movies provide nothing but entertainment. The books, news and movies mentioned all above will give huge negative effect on our society. And just at this time, critics begin to exert functions. The critics can provide a good guidance to the simple persons to appreciate the works and distinguish the canons from the meaningless ones. What’s more, Criticism made by critics about works created by artists will give a great pressure to the artist. As a result, the artist have to spare no efforts to improve their skills or learn more related knowledge, so that they can provide more valuable works and attract more audiences or readers. In the end, the quality of the works created by artists are improved a lot and hence leaving more valuable things to our society.

In sum, the role of critic cannot be ignored. Moreover, in order to maximize the number of something of lasting value to our society, critics and artists can no one less and should cooperate with each other.

语法基础不错，需要修改的地方不多。这点很不错了。逻辑链看起来也是清晰的，不过在对其阐述的过程不算成功，尤其critics部分，个人觉得不是很好，没有说到点子上，有点像中文写作，用一些抽象的文字来代替应该要具体说明的事物，也许我想要表达的是缺乏一针见血的快感。大体上能给你的建议是这个。才第一篇，很不错了！加油！对于备考安排，其实你找找精华帖就能找到很多受用的了。在此不多言。
