TOPIC: ISSUE207 - "Rituals and ceremonies help define a culture. Without them, societies or groups of people have a diminished sense of who they are."

Rituals and ceremonies are essential parts of culture. They are like symbols of culture, for people to remember the traditions, to connect closely and to make dicisions through speeches, singing and so on. Without them, one may partly feel lost in daily lives.

First and foremost, rituals and ceremonies shape the unchangeable activities, with certain people and fixed words, which is what we call tradition nowadays. There always are priests announcing "I now pronouncing you husband and wife" to grooms and brides, after they exchange their rings; there always exist a time for families and friends recalling what the dead did or how they were when they were alive; there always are children outside the door knocking, saying "treat or trick" on Halloween . Invariably, people accept them, follow the traditions and hold them with respect. Traditions teach us do what we should do in the ceremonies and rituals; in this sense, we feel comfortable, not only because we may do what the ancestors did hundreds  years ago, but it enable us to be a member in society.

In addition, it makes it  possible for people to take a look at their belief of truth, integrety, and goodwill during the ceremonies and rituals. For instance, having a wedding ceremony is more than to celebrate. Instead, the ceremony forces the bride and the groom think about their future and their life seriously again, and therefore the oath in front of others. The bigger the ceremony is, the more seriously they will possibly consider and act. Hence, the actions, the dance and the vow, which play important roles in guidance during ceremonies and rituals, impeteratively or naturally  make one think twice and move rationally later. In that way, people become faithful, to religion and to themselves.

Without ceremonies and rituals, with an ever-increasing pace moving forward in modern society, one can hardly stop to exam who he or she really is and what he or she is pursuing. One can therefore lose himself or herself partly. Even achieving success, he or she could not be very happy, as forgetting the reasons driving him or her forward in a short time.

Admittedly, after a long time's recovery, the feeling of the loss of ceremonies and rituals can be cured, as there are other parts of the culture to comfort them. Also, society would move on, setting new ceremonies and rituals for people. It then turns out to be a pity for most people who forget how ceremonies and rituals once were. Perhaps, what one feels about the lost ceremonies and rituals held by antient people now would be similar to what  people will feel in the future, who will find our existing ceremonies and rituals lost.

Therefore, ceremonies and rituals are one of the most important parts of traditions. They help people find their faith and consider big dicisions carefully. In this sense, one would feel lost when ceremonies and rituals are gone in a short time, while in a long time, he or she might recovery by finding other new ceremonies and rituals.

这是我最晕的ISSUE之一啊。。还找来WIKI看半天。。。不知道这样的结构,拍的筒子会觉得怎样。。

TOPIC: ISSUE207 - "Rituals and ceremonies help define a culture. Without them, societies or groups of people have a diminished sense of who they are."

Rituals and ceremonies are essential parts of culture. They are like symbols of culture, for people to remember the traditions, to connect closely and to make dicisions(应该是decisions吧?) through speeches, singing and so on.

Traditions teach us do what we should do in the ceremonies and rituals; in this sense, we feel comfortable, not only because we may do what the ancestors did hundreds  years ago, but it enable(应为enables) us to be a member in society.(此段的例证是一大亮点,排比论证,向楼主学习~~~)

In addition, it makes it  possible for people to take a look at their belief of truth, integrety, and goodwill during the ceremonies and rituals. For instance, having a wedding ceremony is more than to celebrate. Instead, the ceremony forces the bride and the groom (应该是force...to do sth.吧)think about their future and their life seriously again, and therefore the oath in front of others. The bigger the ceremony is, the more seriously they will possibly consider and act. Hence, the actions, the dance and the vow, which play important roles in guidance during ceremonies and rituals, impeteratively(这个单词是否有拼写错误呢?) or naturally  make one think twice and move rationally later.

Perhaps, what one feels about the lost ceremonies and rituals held by antient people now would be similar to what  people will feel in the future, who will find our existing ceremonies and rituals lost.(此段中间部分论证人们对现代和曾经的仪式的对照思考,个人觉得偏离主题,如果此处能对“在没有仪式的情况下人们还是能在其他方面找到自己的社会归属感”这一方面展开论述,不知楼主觉得如何?)

Therefore, ceremonies and rituals are one of the most important parts of traditions. They help people find their faith and consider big dicisions(decisions) carefully. In this sense, one would feel lost when ceremonies and rituals are gone in a short time, while in a long time, he or she might recovery by finding other new ceremonies and rituals.

楼主的本篇issue语言运用得当,思想方面中间稍有偏差,不过总的来说还是很不错的。
