[issue130]   "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."


The speaker claims that the destiny of society is determined by how the children are socialized, while we haven't learned how to raise children to build a better society. In one hand ,I must say that I strongly agree with the speaker's opinion that children are not raising to become more socialized ,however ,in another hand ,I think the assertion that how children are socialized ultimately determines the destiny of society is too arbitrary.
To begin with I accept the idea that socialization of children surely affects the destiny of society. As we all know, children will be the main power of society in the future, thus what kind of a generation is will result in the kind what the society will be. In this term, the education of children is no doubt very important. To make our society more concordant, the communication between people is crucial. Without communication, every teammate of a physical group studying quantum will be isolated and their sparks will never light other members; without communication, citizens and government officials will be not able to unite to build a great nation; without communication how can the different nations enjoy each other's culture, leading the world to be sundry and wonderful?
Yet, is it only the widely and deeply socialization of children that finally contributes to the destiny of society? Common sense tells us, of course not. Take an example occurs to me into account. I once had a friend who was talking and expert in communicate with others but in the meantime he was not that talent in study as in communication .With time passing by ,he lost his interest in learning and just dallied everyday and he is just a ordinary man who fights for the next meal now .Supposing every child is raised in this way ,in which we over stress the significance of the socialization ,what the future of our society will be? The destiny of the society determined by a crowd of people who are not well-education and of narrow-horizon, will never be a brilliant one.
Thus not only the socialization of children but some other factors such as the education of the children also change the destiny of society. A flourishing society is a world in which people enjoy their lives, an era of prosperity in all fields . Hence the education of children should not only focus on how they are socialized but how to broaden their horizon as well. Common sense tells us that a person without knowledge will never be a luminary while a society consisted of people unenlightened will never be a better society.
While the destiny of the world is determined by many factors, what we learned how to raise children helping bring about a better society is far from enough. Nowadays with the rapid social and technological changes, we are inclining to make children to be specialists and neglect the influence of socialization. We should underline the value of socialization and specialization in cultivating children therefore building a better society in the future.
