TOPIC: ISSUE130 - "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

Personally,I partly agree with the author's opinion.There is no doubt that the way children are raised and socialized has a enormous influence on the society itself.However,it is too pessimistic to assert that we have learned nothing during the process.

Maybe some of us will wander what is the exact definition of  socialization?Actually,the term is used by socialist , social psychologists and educationalists to refer to the process of learning one's culture and how to live within it.As for the individuals,the socilization provides us the resources for acting and participating in the society and for the society,inducting individuals into its moral norms.

Socialization is so important to children in that it cultivates the children's substancial living ability ,teaches them the basic knowledge and skills,and lies a solid foundation for the moral and ethics .For example,many parents take their children to some social activities,children have fun together,establishing their braveness,their leadership and the spirit of cooperating at the same time.Conversely,if children are inbued with anti-socialization,it will cast a potential impact on the society security.

Also,socialization should never be the only determinant in developing a better society.The great leader Mahatma Gandhi changed the destinity of India,delivering his people the belief of freedom but actually he is not effected by the upper class's socialization.Another example is the former President Roosevelt,though he was not socially developed in his youth,but the New Deal 's great power has proven his accomplishment to the society.So,the society shouldn't be completely affected by the socializaion,factors such as the innovation ability and the standard of techonlogy can also determine the future of a society.

Furthermore,contemporary education doesn't  seems so pessimistic,otherwise the emerge of the mass achievements of the society.We are delighted to see that parents are now sending their children to the best school , guiding their babies read the book in the leisure time and encouraging them to contact more with others ,suggesting them to go out and learing to be independent.Also, in the most recent society, socialization provides children the ability of great tolerance with different views and people who are differnt from us ,socialazation gives the possibility to protect individual rights and help us cooperation across cultural and national boundries.

In summary,socialization is a fundamental factor in raising children since it will make a big difference on the process of social development.But at the same time we should find more ways to ameliorate the society and be more confident about the contemporary pattern we raise our children.
