Socialization，from individual aspect, means a procession of turning someone to be a member of society by communicating with and learning from others. For the reason that our human beings are social animals, socialization stands an important place in characters of a person. In speaker’s opinion, children’s socialization determines the density of society. It seems reasonable, but I’m afraid I’m only partly agreeing with him.

To begin with, socialization is truly important, because it includes many factors like getting known technology, obeying social rules, setting up goals and so on. Admittedly, there are many matters which may have negative affection during period when children grow up. Some kids become violent by reading books or watching TV, and some begin to steal when others tell them that is a fast and easy way to earn money. But only when they really get enrolled in society, they will learn technology from teachers and recognizing their own value. Even someone may say that reading classics and textbooks at home is also helping children to grasp knowledge and their own worth view. The most important quality—teamwork spirit—for a person is necessary which only can be gotten in society if children wish to survive in society nowadays.

Secondly, even socialization is important, however, it is not the only factor which decides the destiny of society. Health, economy imagination, etc are all ruling whether it is a developed society. America, which is regarded as the most developed country in the world, owns the most modern equipments from amusement to army, the largest multinational corporations and the most advanced technology. While someone may still believes that without communication, human relation net, there is nothing can be done. Is socialization the basement of society? Absolutely not. Everyone hold knowledge of social economy knows that economy decides superstructure which includes culture, living and even army. Although internal relationship is complex, which almost becomes symbols of some countries, we still can’t say that they are the developed.

Finally, the speaker claims that we have not learn how to raise children who will bring us a better society. We do have pretty many matters to educate children, actually, more things they need to depend on themselves to explore. From generation to generation, we become more and more preposterous. Of course, basic philosophy, world view and worth view are needed to be transferred to our children to warrant they won’t go the wrong way. But everything is changing all the time. If they believe us and never innovate, all we see now is everyone wearing leathers or leaves only covering small part of his body, regarding fire as god, counting with stones and cords, etc.

In summary, I agree with speaker’s opinion that socialization is an important factor to develop our society and make our lives better. But other factors cannot be ignored. Only when children who will take our places to be the hosts of society develop themselves generally and own their own thinking, society will get its progress.
