As the world is developing rapidly thanever before, advanced technologies benefit people and life seems to be easierthan it was. However, bad things like wars, violence and poverty still existand in somewhere problems get even more severe. The hope that the developmentof human technology will improve the condition of humanity and thus make theworld a better place has faded away. Technological innovations do not motivethe improvement of humanity condition for that the two are not necessarilyrelated to each other.

Humanity, which is born with human race, isthe bright side of human mind. With humanity, a human being acts in good behaviourand does good to others, wishing that others live as well as he/she does. In myperspective, humanity is formed in the social lives in which one's livingcondition, to a large extent, depends on the overall condition of the wholesociety. Therefore, humanity becomes the instinct of human race. However,humanity is not the only instinct of human beings, other evil things such asgreed and sloth mentioned in 7 sins are still the instinct of human naturerather than good wills. Greeds takes others' wealth as their own through wars,wraths vent their dissatisfaction through violence, sloths fall to poverty. Sohumanity cannot make everything better because of the dark side of humannature. As long as the bad instincts exist, the bad things will not beeliminated completely.

Apart from humanity, technologies are theaccumulation of human civilization and intellect therefore have nothing to dowith humanity. No matter starting from a good will or bad will, human can solveproblems by the intelligence of themselves. People develop agriculture to feedthemselves and others, also, they invented nuclear bombs to kill others. Technologieshelp nothing for humanity while humanity helps nothing for technologicalinnovations itself. So it is unrealistic that the development of technologiescan solve the humanity problems.


However, in the modern society, the two arenot totally unrelated. There are many good people doing good things to addglory to humanity. Although technologies cannot decide whether people do goodto each other, they can affect how people are capable to do. After theearthquake in Haiti, manyrescue teams were send to Haitito help saving people immediately. Thanks to the development of transportation,rescue teams can get to Haitiin a short time. And thanks to the advanced searching devices and medicaldevices, many lives were saved.

Although there will be evil things in humannature, people can still overcome them by using humanity. Technologies can givea hand to humanity to make more profit to human race to make it a better world.
