When browsing the pages on the internet, reading newspapers, or chatting with peers and classmates, scandals, are always ineluctable, of our topics. People are always fond of talking about the hot topics and sensation things happen recently. However, this tendency to these kind of gossips, scandles and something like that, leading to a no less serious problem we nowadays have confronted, that is, are they useful for us, that is to say, is there any value or merit lies in them? According to the speaker's statement, these scandals make us focus and concentrate on problems in a novel way, that to some extant, contradict the traditional one, brought by speakers and reformers. As far as I am concerned, I strongly cherish the perspective that scandals do drag our eyesight to a deeper and more profound aspect, that is to say, from these scandals, what can we learn and how to prevent these kinds of things from ever happening again, that's the main point we should pay more attention to, not just so simply, superficially on the scandals themselves.
Scandals, more often than not, will harm, even ruin and destroy their objects' reputation, and it's hard to say, that this breach is reparable. To put it into more detailed example or illustration, Hwang Woo-Suk is not so easily be ignored or omitted. In 2007, one newspaper of South Korea reported that the popular famed biotechnologist, once fabricated a series of experiments and their results, including the stem cell research. After the scandal was revealed by the newpaper, all the country was trapped in the mire of sham and anger, this kind of fabrication was not acceptable for the residents as a whole. Even after the apology of Hwang WS and his college, the lost in reputation, fame and profits, could not be pulled back any more. As we can see, scandals, in the aspect of academia, are ``````````
When it comes to the realm of politics, scandals could be harmful, detrimental, even to some degree vital and lethal. Former American President Bill Clinton, once a time had a improper relation with the intern of
White House, Monica Lewinsky. Their scandals, to be more exact, that is, the president's sex scandals, were unfortunately brought emerged down from the dark side by numerous medias, and became the hottest topic during dinning time. This scandal almost led to the impeachment, though, finally it was impeded. Needless to say, Clinton's famous reputation was smirched by what he has done, however, his effort in ameliorating the economics of America should not be erased from the history books, so is his contribution to the stable development of American social condition and the international affairs. In a sense, sometimes, overwhelming scandals make their listeners and audiences confused and nonplused, and they seemly overemphasized too much on their foibles and faults as well, that's not quite fair to treat them and their otherwise contribution to the human beings and the global village.
Sometimes, we people should have the courage to doubt and call these scandals into question, on the basis of their credibility. |
