请教一道填空题+招1006G笔考题讨论小组

A.indirectly  B.politically  C.intellectually  D.sensibly  E.sequentially
本题答案是A。
根据but的前后对立，可以排除掉B（贤明地）C和D，但是，我确实没有从题
中找出和indirectly对立或者同义的线索，再加上第六感sequentially还勉勉强
强有disciplined的特征，于是选择了E。但是答案是indirectly，是不是but之前
的active与indiretly有点对立的意思呢？各位同僚们都是怎么想的~~~~？
请教之~~~

恩！懂了 。。。
后来我又仔细领会了领会，发现其实不管是development of informed and active citizens还是disciplined and productive workers with the abilities that contribute to civic life ，可以看出提高学校质量的作用总之就是为了服务于“公民”。从这一点也可以看出前者是直接作用，而后者是间接的。
当然版主所提及的由if at all就可以直接得出后者作用应该弱一点，就一步到位啦。。。
