Recendly,there is a considerable number of people hold the opinion that it is meaningless to try and keep traditional skills and ways of life which are dying out with the development of rapid modern technology claim that keeping those traditions is a waste of time, workforce and money.For my part ,I am not in favor of this viewpiont for the following three points.
First and foremost, the conventional methods and lifestyles stand for the essence of our ancient culture and
and some of them become a part of attractions to tourists. In other words ,it contributes much to the tourist industy to some extent. A case in point is that the rebuildings of some ancient towns like Lijiang which presents some conventional lifetyles and artefacts that impressed many travelers ,especially foreign tourists . As a matter of fact ,what attracterd people most is not what the things be like ,but the ancient culture that prohibits. After all ,human is always curious about that thay have never seen just as ancient culture which is
remote away from our comtemporary society.
Futhermore ,the role some traditional skills played in our socity is still significant.For instance,acupuncture which is a therapy handed down from the history have illustrated to be healthier and more effective than many moodern therapies,especially when it comes to some chronic illnesses.To be more specific ,take our traditional Chinese dishes as examples , like dumplings ,moon cakes ,rice-puddings and so on which are always an essential part of our life.
An additional factor involves my believe is that the increasingly recognization of some traditional ways of life such as writing letters and eating organic food which is not fertilized with pesticides or any kind of chemical inputs.Admittedly,many other conventional ways of life is no longer needed nowadays,but it does not mean pointless.
When all the factors are examined ,we may safely come to the conclusion that abandonment of the traditions is not advisable and sensible .The best approach we can do is get ride of the bad and carry forward the good .
