The speaker alleges the history of history has little value if it is not relevant to our daily lives. Although I understand the speaker's intention to find the solutions to the problems of people's daily lives through the study of history. But the speaker's allegation wrongly indicates the study of history will be useless if its relevance to our daily lives is limited. Although the speaker claims that the study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives. But in the future when our present become the past, the study of present still benefits our society as the essence of history could help us find all the answers to the similar issues in the future. Most important, although studying history relevant to our daily lives could help us finding the better solutions to the present issues to some extent, but the otherwise study of history also provides courage and meaningful lessons on justice, and kindle people's interests in more subjects- all of which will be helpful to make better lives.


To begin with, learning history of those famous trying hard to achieve success, particularly those in adversity, on the hand, provides us courage to fight with present challenges, otherwise, their decisions when they facing those adversities will give us some useful information which could help us address successfully the similar troubles.
Vincent Van Gogh's spirit used to inspire lot of artists to pursue their art career, even though he face the gloomy sales of his painting, he still decided to maintain his faith in his own understanding in panting, His enterprising spirit in painting is very similar with today's artist, especially when those artists can not immediately get enough fortune and reputation in art field. Vincent's example informs them never give up; keep on working on their faith finally they will realize their dreams.


Moreover, the recognition of mistakes of the past could inform us avoiding repeating those kinds of mistakes. For example, history teach us the improperness of addressing some controversial problems, particular the racial ones, on a society level. Racial discrimination against minor groups teaches us social instability would be threatened all the people can not be treated equally. Thus in the future, the legislation department should consider the equality on human rights to be the priority when addressing the similar issues.


As my experience as a student, the study of history sparks my interests in study of other subjects. For instance, I used to be highly inspired by the wisdom of Tomas Jefferson, especially on the idea of founding America to be a country with independence, democracy and equality; after that, I decide to learn more about the political knowledge about United States, as a result although I am an expert in politics, but I do have a better understanding of our government work thus in the future I can make contribution to make government more functional.



To sum up, in order to give a fair judgment on the study of history, the speaker should see these benefits which bring by the study of history in other respects. Although it is not relevant to our lives, but those benefits are still of great value to our daily lives.
