In this argument, the speaker says that without outsiders bring their own knowledge and exprience to that field of study, that field can not achieve advance.I partily agree with the author, many fields can not live without other fields or studies ,neitherless, the insiders should first delve in the study otherwise any other fields related to the study are useless.
First of all, in today's study, all fields'  knowledge are related to others, in fact, there is not a field  independent to others.Let's take computer science and technology as an example. Computer is designed by a mathematical expert firstly. Many computer engineer are specialized in both computer science and mathematics, electrics even the physics. As  producing CPU should use the
technology of the electrics and phycics, and designing a operation system should also use the knowledge of mathematics and logics.Without the knowledge of artists , the style of computer is not just as stylist as todays.It must be so ugly. So without other knowledge of other fields, computer would not exist as popular as today.  And thak the astronomy as another example, the astronomy is also constituted by physics ,electrics, computer science and technology, astrology, materia, gravitation and so on.  All field exactly are not independent to others.
Secondly, a breakthrough in one certain area may make a contribution to another or several other fields. As there is not a field  independent to others, so a restrict in a field will surelly lead to stop of the related fields' development. Such as communication, in long time the development  of communication were stopped as the restrict of physics which can not produce a materia let the signal to transfer  faster . The communication field could only use material such as
twisted pair, coaxial cable or unreliable air., which is an obstacle of the signal transmitting.Until the appearance of fibre-optical ,contributed by the progress of physics,  the field of communication had
made a largely progress due to the fibre-optical  can transmit as fast as light.
And in the realm of sports,the players of basketball player do not kn
ow to jump higher and higher  excepted   training
harder and harder.Until the breakthrough of the biology, the scientist discovered a kind of shoes which similar to the foot of the deer, such products boost the ability of jumping and the basketball players could finish a slam dunk easily. So the breakthrough of one field has come true many people's dream.
Thirdly, nowadays, a arbiter in one realm also do well in many other realms related to his relams. Take the owner of  Nobel Prize in 1994  , famous economics  John Nash as example.  Nash's work on game theory , including the Nash equilibrium and the Nash arbitration scheme has allowed reserchers to better understand problems of competition and cooperation  among agents or player. His theory let other economicist easily to analysis economics model . In the history of the world, many experts in one field are also  experitise in other realms, Such as Newton, he is not only a physicist but also a expert of mathematics , architecture, chemistry. So arbiter in onr field is surelly a expert in other realms.
Nontheless, to make a significantly advance in one expert, we could not only depend on the outsider's knowledge . We should also do well in our own realm.Such as the computer science, if the engineer of
the computer science and technology
do not how to desigh the instruction or the way of CPU working,
even if the physics, mathematics are as well as enough to serve the
Computer science and
technology we could not   make a progress inthe computer. So without knowing the configuration of the computer, knowledge  
of other realms are useless.
In sum, Without other field of the knowledge and experience to the field of study, no field will make a  signifacant advance .Neverthless, without the great base of the field , other knowledge and experience to that field of study would do nothing on it.
