The speaker asserts that human mind must be superior to, under any circumstance, machines. If so, why we bother ourselves to invent, design and produce varieties of machine? I fundamentally hold a different view with the speaker. Everything has both advantages and disadvantages, especially by comparison with others; human mind and machine are also not exceptions. Thus, it is irrational to say absolutely one is superior to the other.

First, in some certain situations, particularly entailing high accuracy and efficiency, it is machine that shows considerable advantages over human mind. Computers can serve as a typical and compelling example to demonstrate this viewpoint. When coming to calculating speed, human mind can neither match modern computers. We can enjoy clear pictures, moving videos and pleasant music with computers furnished with multimedia but can guess what the scene may be like from what a person says or writes. Another persuasive instance is microscope, with whose help biologist can discover tinny creatures such as bacterial and virus, which can’t be seen directly by our eyes, and make further study about them. Obviously, in order to save the human being ourselves from the hard and boring work or increase the working efficiency, a large number of devices come into being. Those inventions, generally speaking, can provide efficiency and accuracy many times of that of human mind.


Second, with the development of science and technology, in analysis thinking, some specially designed machine can show a more outstanding work than human mind. In 2001, the Times published a piece of incredible news that a computer, which is named "Deeper -blue", won a cheese game and debated the former world champion. As we all know, analysis thinking is essential for playing cheese, and one must anticipate what the opponent will do in next several steps and, respectively, what measures should she take to fight against; therefore, calculating speed and close examination count much in the proceeding. High speed of calculating and program, which is based on several word champions’ playing track and instilled into the computer, guarantees the unbelievable success. This news indicates that machine, specially promoted and equipped with some certain corresponding function, can work a wonder and defeat a top expert or even a world champion, let alone ordinary people.

Admittedly, as to the emotion, it is hardly possible for machine to equal, at least currently, human mind. Human being will express their own feelings whenever they confront case that is exciting, inspiring, or disappointing. When making a decision to tackle some problems, human kind always take others’ reaction and the moral influence into account, which contributes much to lasting living as well as the unity and integrity of human kind as a whole. However, a solitary machine will hardly care so much. In a scientific imaginary film "Wallet", what the machinery captain can do nothing but obey the fixed instructions that lead to exploration of the space ship, regardless of all of the passengers’ wishes to go back earth. In short, as to emotions, machine can never match or be superior to human mind, let alone take place of.

Judging from what has been discussed above, we can safely come to the conclusion that compared with human mind, machine can work more accurately and efficiently; nonetheless, the drawback about machine that it take no possession of emotion and can't work without human mind's instruction cannot be denied. Hence, it is unreasonable to claim that human mind is always superior to machine.

自评：语法方面错误不多，但亮点少，没远达到GRE要求的水平；例子比较充足，对例子的展开分析还行，但算不上”有力“；这份response的优点就是：结构清晰，逻辑完整。
