"Tradition and modernization are incompatible. One must choose between them."

The speaker tends to assert that the tradition and modernization are conflict with each other, so we need drop one of them. In certain extent, I do agree inconsistencies are widely exist between new and old, which means people have to make changes in many aspects during the social development process. However, I do not think we should abandon and are able to discard one of them. Furthermore such discontent and even complain during the upgrade from tradition to modernization are great impulses for our society that I will expound in the following section.

Firstly, tradition and modernization are almost 2 legs of our society, the contribution bring by both of them are highly recognized. We need to know that the new and the old are time based. In other words, new things will eventually become old ones in the future; moreover modernization is derived from the tradition at same time. Thus, these 2 entities cannot be separated as the wish of the speaker, though some cost are made for people adopting new ways. Take the traditional art form painting and the new art form digital photograph as an example. The artist does have new choice to represent the nature beauty by using new device that can bring more special perspectives, under water or in the sky, and stunning effects rendered with computer software. Albeit digital camera is a modern way to performing art, it still cannot a replacement of traditional painting, because camera could only capture what you can see in the real world but not what inside your mind especially surrealism subject. In conclusion, both of tradition and modernization could live together very well and they are necessities for every social member.

Secondly, when people transfer from the traditional way to new way, they must suffer the pains and always express dissatisfaction, due to the modernization does not mean perfection and could meet the needs of all interest groups. Just such resent could push people to find more advanced solutions and answers for our imperfect world. From science and technology fields to art literature and social fields, denying the past partially and exploring the new methods impel social progressing a lot. Such phenomenon could be always observed in legislation field. There are many laws have been amended during these years in China. One of the most important one is Labor Law which established about 20 years ago. Compare with that time, both general workers and legislator with government have the common sense that the law could not fit for the times; especially too much conflicts have been occurred due to the inequality between the employers and employees. After amended in 2007, the law is more like to protect the general worker side such as in social security and medical care plans. We can clearly see that the discontent does make a chance to promote us from the immature to relative reasonable status, though not perfect. So we should see the positive side of the incompatible side between tradition and modernization.
