ARGUMENT56 - Collectors prize the ancient life-size clay statues of human figures made on Kali Island but have long wondered how the Kalinese artists were able to depict bodies with such realistic precision. Since archeologists have recently discovered molds of human heads and hands on Kali, we can now conclude that the ancient Kalinese artists used molds of actual bodies, not sculpting tools and techniques, to create these statues. This discovery explains why Kalinese miniature statues were abstract and entirely different in style: molds could only be used for life-size sculptures. It also explains why few ancient Kalinese sculpting tools have been found. In light of this development, collectors should expect the life-size sculptures to decrease in value and the miniatures to increase in value.

In this argument, the author draw a conclusion that the value fo the life-size sculpture should decrease and that of the miniature should increase which is based on a assumption that the Kalinese artist in acient time always use actual bodies to make sculpture. To justify the claim, the author cite an evidence that archeologist have found mode of human heads and hands on Kali. To further substantiate the assumption, an additional evidence that few ancient Kalinese sculpting has been discovered. At first glance this argument seems appealing, close scrutiny, reveals it relies on a series of unpersuasive assumption and therefore is untrustworthy.

the threshold problem inherited in this argument is that the insufficient evidence provided fails to lend a solid support to the assumption that the Kaliese get used to sculpt by real body of human. No detailed statistical information is offered to demonstrate that the molds is from the time when the kali remains living, It is highly possible that these so called clues is left by some other minorities in another ancient time. Moreover, no explanation was provided concerning the number of the molds found.Unless it can be shown that the amount is paramount or it can be representative enough of the behavior of Kail, it would be unwarranted to draw any convincing conclusion

Even assuming that, this argument still rest on a casual relationship which is short of legitimacy. Lacking in discovery of the tools of sculpting
do not necessarily indicate that the kailnese in ancient time seldom used them. Perhaps the tools might manufactured by wood or some other things which can be dissolved quickly and easily. Or perhaps some strong earth quake has been occurred which makes all the tools was buried in the deep earth. Without ruling out these or other possibilities, the author would not draw any convincing conclusion.

Even the author can substantiate all the assumptions foregoing, he or she still commits a fallacy of hasty generalization. Molds of actual-bodies do not serve as exclusive prerequisite for the changes of value. As is often the case, the value of is highly determined by both the supplies and needs of market. It is entirely possible that the total amount things from Kali is extremely scarce and extrodinaryly popular in antique-market which collect will treat as a paramout proud. In short, lacking of explanation concerning the above scenarios, the author cannot convince me of the conclusion.

To sum up, this argument is not well-reasoned as it stands. To make it logically acceptable, the author is supposed to demonstrate the molds indeed indicate a behavior of human used sculpture that To solidify the claim, more evidence concerning the time of the molds and information of the market should be cited.
