History is a record recording what former people did in the past and enlightens latter periods. From history, one can learn what predecessors did before, and can absorb predecessors’ good experience for success while pay attention to the reasons of predecessors’ failure. So study can not only help us to deal with problems relevant to our daily lives, but also can bring us much more benefits.
First of all, study of history not only can help us deal with problems relevant to our daily lives but also can help us foresight and predict what may happen in the future and let us have time to get ready to face these problems which will emerge in the future. As we all know, things and conditions in history always repeat again and again, what trouble our ancestors in ancient times may also trouble us today, or even trouble our offspring. By studying history, we can know the rules that thing deduce then use the rules to predict what will happen. For example, economic crisis is a big problem we suffering, but if we study the history of economy; we can see there are several economic crises in history happened regularly. So if we find out the objective laws behind economic crisis, we can predict them and get ready for them, or even find methods to avoid them in the future.
What’s more, studying history is also valuable that can provide us more experiences and inspirations. These experiences and inspirations may not relate to daily lives or even not useful for most people but these experiences and inspirations are also valuable. For example I know some people who are very interesting in history, they study history are not in order to refer it to fix daily lives’ affairs but just for interesting. They read many history books and are inspired by these characters in history; meanwhile they also absorb these historical characters’ merit and experience. They read history as read interesting stories through these stories seem have no relationship with daily lives, how can we say they are useless?
In conclusion, history is very important to us, we cannot ignore it by regarding it just valuable only in condition that it is relevant to our daily lives.
