[选校相关] 问题持续出现~关于YALE和MIT [复制链接]

在YALE的网站上看到：

Letters of recommendation Three letters of recommendation received by the School no later than January 2, 2010, are required. At least one letter of recommendation should be from a person with direct knowledge of the applicant’s professional potential and academic ability.

按照我的理解只要写推荐信的人里面有一个是带过我的课程老师就OK了^_^应该是这样的吧~

像周围有不少人跟我说推荐信要找系主任写，但问题是系主任没带过我设计耶，而且我有足够的人来帮我写推荐信了：一个大三带过我的外教，一个艺术家&其它
那大家觉得还有必要找系主任吗？

还有，关于HOUSING的，网站上说提供的宿舍都是没有家具的……莫非米国学校提供的宿舍都是这样的？

看了YALE的COURSES还有STUDENT WORK，挺喜欢DI，不知道大家对它（YALE）的看法是怎么样的？

在MIT的WEBSITE上看到：

MArch Admissions Requirements
The program requires the following academic preparation:

A Bachelor's degree with high academic standing from a recognized institution or, in the judgement of the department, the equivalent of this degree.
Two semesters of satisfactory study in college-level mathematics (such as, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus).
Two semesters of satisfactory study in college-level natural sciences (such as, physics, biology, chemistry).
Six semesters of satisfactory study in college-level humanities and/or social sciences.

Students may be admitted with limited deficiencies in 2, 3, or 4 above, but this deficiency must be removed prior to entry into the second year of graduate study in the department.

它指的 college-level mathematics 是我们大一上的高数吗……到时打成绩单的话会帮我们直接翻译还是说要我们自己添加说明？
接下来的那两个什么 natural sciences 和 humanities or social sciences……就不懂了，读建筑怎么会有时间修PHYSICS,CHEMISTRY之类，而且还要求satisfactory study……虽然它说可以去到GRADUATE SCHOOL再修，那强度也太不寻常了吧（第4项还是6 semesters ^_^），望解答……

感觉MIT和YALE网页风格蛮像的~不知道是不是错觉尼，而且它们都不像UPEN那样能下载整份的学生作业耶，所以对研究生院的整体印象得知不足，郁闷ING！
