复杂的获得degree，我到底是什么？

本人申请的是PhD，拿到offer letter上说的是：.
This funding is recurring, which means thatyou will be guaranteed funding for five years, assuming you make good progressin the program.
Our program providesstudents two years of funding to complete the MS degree, two years of fundingto complete PhD coursework and preparation for the PhD preliminary examination,and a fifth year of funding to complete the PhD dissertation.
Funding after the fifth year in the programis sometimes awarded but not guaranteed.
也就意味着我是5年的phd。



但是I20上说我将获得的是Master of Science，将留美24个月 “Theletter you receive from the Graduate School will state that you have beenadmitted to the Master of Science program in Sociology.”


那么我是PhD还是MS？
这关系到 怎么写回国计划，本来我是写要在美国做phd阶段的研究，一共5年，然后回国找个教职。现在，如果按I20上的，我只能待24个月，不可能是PhD了。我到底是什么。。。。文科Master的归国计划一般说什么？
