无法对他人说好话时应该什么也不说
Sometimes, if you can not say anything nice to someone, you should say nothing at all.



Besides few convivial people who are quite proficient in communication, most may now and then confront plight when it is fairly hard to pick up a nice word to say. Some choose silence, whereas others blurt out the unfavorable truth. Either of these two ways, in my opinion, can be a good choice; as we are living in a complex society with intricate connections to different people around us, I am deeply convinced that it would be wise to make a decision according to specific situations.

When the one I am facing is relatively distant or bad-tempered, keeping my mouth closed can be a sign of acumen. In this case, if I told her or him the "ugly" truth, she or he would not be thankful for our bluntness, but even might be exasperated and convinced that I intentionally offended her or him.

When I am talking to intimate friends, however, I believe sincerity may be valued the most. A true friend, from my point of view, is kind of like a mirror, is the one who can share my secrets and feelings, and is capable to be relied on all the time. I am prone to take it as my responsibility to inform my friends their shortcomings or aspects can be improved, which may sound disagreeable; in the meantime, this is also how I intend to be treated by my friends.

Nevertheless, to be candid can never be an excuse for naivety or laziness. No one will refuse to be praised and, at the same time, be receptive to all criticisms. To keep pouring unfavorable ideas may irritate anyone eventually. In addition, it is not a bad idea to always prepare several interesting topical issues and share with others when running into quandary.

To sum up, the way in which we manage our words under various circumstances is an art of conversation. We may occasionally express our heartfelt opinions even when they are offensive to some degree, but too much is unacceptable for anyone and that is where "silence is gold" rules.

A job with more vacation time is better than a job with high salary but less vacation time.



Salary or vacation? In no doubt, high salary is quite attractive, but can salary take precedence over vacation, which means to sacrifice more rest time for more money? I would take "no" as the answer, since high salary cannot be a substitution of happiness and health which may be credited with relax during vacation, though I will not deny that money is indispensible for living.

First of all, more vacation is tantamount to more time for us to employ for our own sake and for which may bring us pleasure and satisfacation. From my point of view, happiness should be valued the most in our lives, as it can not only keep us full of energy, but it is also good for our health, especially the heart. On the contrary, to work more hours for higher salary will contribute nothing but money. Although money is valuable, the standard exchange substance for miscellaneous commodities in the market, there are things money cannot buy and happiness is one of them.

In addition, more vacation to rest is also conducive to our health, whereas high pressure and work load in favor of high salary may lead to weakness of our bodies, which may consequently cost more money on medicine or tonic. After all, the main purpose of earning high salary is to live a better life. It turns out to be somewhat paradoxical while undermining our health in exchange of that extra money. Hence, I would like take more vacation and enjoy my life rather than embrace higher income.

Nevertheless, it is not a reasonable excuse to neglect the importance of money and to be indolent in pursuit of undue vacation. As an old saying goes: going too far is as bad as not going far enough, too much vacation may breeze sloth and make it difficult to concentrate our focus on tasks we should accomplish according to our responsibilities. Furthermore, higher salary will, to a certain degree, better guarantee our life quality, considering soaring cost of health care and education expense.

In conclusion, enchanting though higher salary is, happiness and health for which more vacation may be ascribed takes relatively more critical position in my mind. Yet, I will not indulge myself with excessive vacation, but endeavor to make use of every minute and work harder for better reward.
