The writer of this argument is someone who we are not familiar with.The argument
might be written by someone related to Adams Realty which has vested interests in the
result of the argument. What's more, it was posted on an Internet discussion site where
there are little regulation and constrain and are always the first place to advertize. Thus,
it may just be an advertisement of Adams Realty and the result may not be reliable.
First of all, the assumption that Adams Realty and Fitch Realty are the two leading
real estate firms is open to question. Without the condition of other similar companies, we
can hardly evaluate the quality of these two companies. The author would better to provide
other companies condition about their scale, asset, profit and achievement in real estate
field. These information could provide readers with a clear understanding of the quality of
this kinds of companies and make the readers easy to choose the firm they like.
The number of the agents and the hours they work do not necessarily indicate the effect of
the firm. For example, one worker who work part-time may be more effective than another two
workers who work more hours. In addition, many other factors can affect the efficiency of the
workers. Such as the regulation measure, the culture of the firm, the knowledge and skill of
the workers.
The argument is weakened by the fact that it does not take into account the inherent
difference in houses sold by two firms. It is at least likely that Adams Realty usually is
good at selling the houses which are higher cost while the Fitch Realty usually is good at
selling the houses which are lower cost. Thus, Adams's revenue and the houses' averaged price
is more than Fitch. It may, In fact, be the fact that Fitch's profit is higher than Adams's
because Fitch's cost is lower than Adams's and thus Fitch Realty may be more
effective. Besides, the author neglects the possibility that the sale volume amounted to be
an aberration and that in most other years Adams has actually sold fewer properties than
Fitch.
Finally, the case of the first house sold by Adams ten years ago is incomparable to
the second house sold by Fitch last year. The condition of economy of ten years ago is
likely different from the economic condition last year. Such as goods price, inflation rate and
the government policies. These factors could affect the effect of selling
houses. Moreover, the author does not provide the information that may be crucial for the
houses sales. For example, How old are two houses respectively? What are the size of the
houses respectively? Where are the location of two houses respectively? Hence, it is almost
impossible for us to evaluate the effect of two firms based entirely on this case. The conclusion
that if you want to sell your home quickly and at a good price you should use Adams is
unwarranted. Before the readers are encouraged to use Adams, the reliability of this case must
be put into consideration.
The argument for real estate based on only two firms and one case could provide some
useful information for us to refer to. However, we can not believe it without
suspicion. After all, given that some companies in order to make more profit, they cheat
customers by all means. For example. many apocryphal advertisement are represented by stars
who have not social responsibility. Before the decision about choosing which firm to use is made,
