      For a long time, the history is almost the only reasonable and understandable reference to help people make decision in reality other than convoluted philosophy and astrology. Studying what happen before could be more convincing and attractive for us because no other than past affect our present life so deeply. However, it is not only about our daily life, but also linked with some crucial themes permanently.

Admittedly, in the process of retrospection, people could learn a lot about their daily life. With the records of climate changing in every year before, farmers are capable of mastering the best time of sowing or plowing. With the understanding of the periods of tides and wind, merchants could optimize their schedule and itinerary in the navigating of different harbors. Even for ancient politicians, variety of kings , emperors or other characters, recognizing the essence of all kinds of stories, warfare or plots, provides them the strategies of how to protect themselves and defeat the rivals by the way, which somehow constitute the scenario of the politic in reality.
However, these are not the only benefits brought by history.

Furthermore, in some ways, the study of history permanently influence people. During the thinking the previous world, the research of history has in turn reacted with epistemology and invoke people of interests to explain some sorts of things which cannot be simply clarified by the common sense. And all of these considerations finally surpass human’s consciousness and refreshes way of thinking. Faced with the world narrated in the history, people may find there are always something cannot be explained by simply understanding its past, which incurred further thought. Till now, we cannot even distinguish what can be explained by history and what cannot. Due to this problem, the development of other social sciences, like economics, sociology and even some branches of biology has become necessary, which can be regarded as the kind of positive feedback of history study. Because these subject, along with the philosophy, provide different way of viewpoints to deliberate our past and present.

Also, the history, like other subjects, maintains some sort of amusement belongs to the researchers. More often than not, we can see some giants in the developments of sciences or other academic contributions were only driven by their interests at first. In other words, originally, the study and thinking is more of hobbies than careers, and they did and can not completely understand significance of their discoveries, which cannot be recognized by the public, either. The historians is not far from other scholars at this point. To realize Thomas Jefferson was reprinted four teeth from his slaves may not directly uncover any meaning, but may be crucial to the description of a whole picture of a time, brought by the descendants. So we should not expect the fruits of history study are always plentiful. Sometimes, neither we nor historians cannot clarify the meaning of latter’s discovery.

We cannot deny the guides brought by the history study in our daily lives, nor can we overlook to some extent history, like popular literature, brought the researchers and readers recreation with its unimportant but precise details. With this broader viewpoint, could we understand the different aspects of importance originated from history study.
