In the history of the human development, it not rare that many experts with great contributions were suspected and not acknowledged by the public. However, other people with wrong ideas or meaningless work were advocated by the society. It is wise to believe that the reorganization and trust one expert receive, affected tremendously by the atmosphere of society and the population of their own ideas, has little to do with the contribution they make.
Some experts, able to look forward and step out than those in their times, are approximately difficult to get trust and understanding of people, especially if they tried to challenge the authorities.
On the contrary, some experts whose didn’t make meaningful founding or even cheat the public with false results were trusted and respected by people. Korean scientist Hwang Woo Suk faked most of his experiments reports but was taken as one of the most outstanding scientists through Asia and not caught till several years after his paper publicized. Of course he is not alone, many “experts” who are good at publicizing himself and make some easy-to-understand and appears essential but actually false work gain people’s trust and reorganization.
Luckily, our society is not demonstrated totally by those who don’t make important contributions. Many experts with important findings are trusted by the society as well. For example, Stephen William Hawking is well known all over the world for his quantum theory and books about the origin of the universe. He is able to make his theory interesting and easy to understand thus gain many people’s support. What’s more, as a model of strong will, he is popular all over the world.
Apparently, what Hawking and Suk share in common is definitely not the contribution they made, but the ability to make their idea easy to accept and the healthy public figure they set.
Then the key to avoid being suspected is simply one’s idea and be able to publicize one’s point of view. As science are
growingly specialized, it’s hard for people to really fully understand the theory of the experts, so by making ideas easy-to-understand, the experts can gain more support and trust.
The good trend is that less happened that the people distrust the expert with essential findings. It’ the openness and comprehensiveness of the modern society that concerns. We should dare to question the experts as not all their idea are right but remember to endure the different opinions, in which way the whole humanity will move toward a perspective tororrow.
