Pragmatism and idealism are two kinds of idealogy existing through out the development of human beings. And each have huge effect in the life of human. Compare to the idealistic point of view, practical brings simpler, more immediate options. In current, the world changed rapidly. Competition becomes more and more intense. In any realm of life, a guiding ideology has decisive influence. The pragmatic behavior seems to be more efficient,but could it bring success along? Let’s discuss about it.
Admittedly, pragmatism is essential to modern society. It means proceed from reality in everything we do.
Under the lead of practical point of view, a person, a company or a government can survive in the competition of the society. For instance, a scientist should get his theory only based on the result of his experiment, any unverified propositions do not be recognized by science. The case of Korean scientist Hwang Woo Suk offers one powerful
opposite example. Hwang was a authority scientist in Korean who’s subject was cloning technology. If he could based on the practical point of view, and continue trying hard in his experiment, may be he is steal greatly respected, and even may final make a breakthrough in the field of his study. However, he made a error elect. He lied about creating human embryonic stem cells by cloning. Now, he is punished for what he did. This instance tells the important of
. Without it, science could not grow healthily.
However, pragmatism is not panacea. In the social life, two person couldn’t got perfect comunication if each just hold a practical point of idea. As good friends must be a group of
people who are willing to give up their own benefits when their friends are quite in need . A selfish person who always consider of himself could not creat a successful human relations in society. If every one only consider about their own benefit, the social will lose harmony.
When the pragmatism can’t bring success alone, idealism is needed. In the realm of art, the idealistic point of view occupy an leading position. Each artist hold his own view about what the world should be and take these idealistic ideal into his compositions. It is the ideals that makes the
flourish of the art world. For instance, Beethoven put his idealistic point of view to the Song of Joy to express his emotion, to show his love and holp to human beings. The success of the opus is the idealistic point of view.
To sum up, pragmatism and idealism are both improtant in success. One should hold a idealistic ideal to treat to others and to holp for a batter future. And stap on the ground to try hard. Only through coordinate, success will come.
