"A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm."
This is the first law of robots, written by Asimov, which appeared in an imagine world where controlled by the human beings and their best friends --robots. The fundamental of the laws of robots is to avoid human beings injured by the artificial intelligence machines. Is this means to say that however the machines will be smart, the human mind will always be superior to machines because machines are only tools of human minds? (这个问句太长了吧,把后面的because去掉 Is this means that however intelligent they may be, human minds will always be superior to machines?)
When it comes to the machines, many people believe that they are just tools to make work easier, safer and more speed. If “superior” is defined as the familiarity, promptitude, and accuracy in doing certain technical jobs, the machines of our day will surpass human beings in most works according to their high efficiency and their tirelessness. For instance, the computer program specially designed can solve a complex equation, which will cost you several days to work out, in a minute.(这个in a minute 和前面的solve相隔太远了) What’s more, computers can keep on working for days even months with neither interlude nor delinquency while human being will need refresh and recreation; computers can memorize the great amount of information put into them while human being sometime forgets the most important thing; machines such as hoist have the strength that no individual could ever dream of. In this sense, machines are really miracles that we created which helps(which we create to help) us in our adaptation and reconstruction to the nature.
However, the machines just are(are just) machines which invited by human being(beings). Let’s us turn our attention to another side of “superior”. If the word “superior” is defined on the base of creative thinking and emotional sensitivity, up to now, machines are yet inferior to mankind. For example, we can recognize a people whom we are familiar with within a second or less, but the computer will encounter a lot of difficulties in recognizing a person whose countenance has been presented to it even thousands of times. Besides, computers cannot do most of the creative work: it can’t compose; it can’t paint; it can’t think with its own minds which is the very(very可以这样用?) reason for the failure of the machines in exceeding mankind.
Since machines, especially the computers, are developing in a tremendous speed today, we can’t rule out the possibility that, in the future, the machines can overstep humans in almost every work. But up to now, it is still incomparable to the power of human thinking in many aspects and is still under human control. Human beings should make good use of machines and keep an eye on it development to ensure it is growing to the direction of benefiting mankind.
For the reasons mentioned above, I hold that humans and machines are not comparable unless we define the concrete meaning of the word of superior. Machines have advantage on operation certain jobs while it is less intelligent to(than) human being on creative thinking. We should utilize the machines to realize our original ideas and thoughts in our social life and avoid improper use of technology.
这个题目不难,感觉很多人都是从superior这个词入手,虽然是讨论人类和机器的智力,但更像是讨论电脑和机器的智力
而且好像还没啥名人名事可以举,很担心雷同啊 |
