Government should focus more on solving the immediate problems of today instead of future, as the speaker contends? As to me, which item is more important depends on the meaning of problems. So I can not easily agree with this topic.
To begin with, a well-known saying is 'Yesterday is the history of today! ' and in other words, is to tell us that today will become the history of tomorrow. And if we leave our immediate problems to tomorrow, as an snowball becoming bigger and bigger, will put us into trouble. Consider as an illustration, poverty, slavery and confliction become the worldwide immediate problems of today for governments to solve, if now governments tell us they want to make arts which may become the anticipated problems of the future prosper with ignoring the presented problems of today will be ridiculous. And to this extent, it seems to choose solving the immediate problems as the important role focused by governments.
Although the immediate problems of today is important, too underlining is unnecessary. When it comes to the problems about our education of our children who will be the future, then this kind of anticipated problems of the future is urgent for governments to focus. As we all know, the harmony of our society which can save this world depends on education, especially education of ethics. Nowadays, to develop financial programs and intents of interests, governments almost put their eyes little on the education of morality. Then, many bad conditions occurred to our society. To some angle, the problems of moral education is a perpetual problem links yesterday and tomorrow, even become the lasting problems of future. If government do not inform the importance of this kind of the anticipated problems will lead to the other turns of disaster.
In sum, different meanings of the 'problems' decide the necessity of governments eyesight. Whether the problems present in today or tomorrow, it should be taken into account. As the leader of our nation, the governments should pay more attention on this view: In some conditions, problems will interchange.
