I agree with the viewpoint that the way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests. In most conditions, the appearance and behavior of its people could explan a society's ideas and values, but in some special circumstances, it would not.
People's appearance and behaviors reveal their attitudes and interests. In a demoncratic nation like this, people are free to choose the clothing and decoretion he/she prefers. If he is fond of sports, he would be more likely to purchase more sneakers and sports suits for his frequrent coming to the gym. If he prefers more on money and rich, his dreaming appearance is a gold Rolex on his wrist, a Mercedes in his driverway, and a pretty woman by his arm to parties full of celebrities. The clothing and appearance always illustrate a nation's or a race's attitudes and beliefs rooted in its culture. In ancient Greece, women who is authority in their society would cut their right breast to become more convinent to bow. In our contemporary eyes they would be seen ugly and crazy, yet they would feel beautiful and proud to take a responsibility to the family and the whole society. Thus, the way people look, dress and act reveals not only their attitudes and interests but also their cultures and beliefs.
Therefore, We can recognize a society's ideas and values via observing the appearance and bohavior of its people. A society's ideas and values could be conveyed by its people in their appearances since the rules and regulations in a sociey could definitely restrines its people's clothing. Take a look at the cothing in the totalization and demontric society today. In totalization societies, people are asked for the uniform in their worktime and a series of regulation in their clothing in their daily lives to make them keep unity and social values in mind all the time. Nevertheless, in demotric societies, people are free to choose their clothing. Cool sports hat, sunglasses, simple T-shirts and blue jeans could be composed by your own interests and values only for the reason that this is a nation advocating freedom and characteristic.
However, the new trends that be modeled by its numerous follows could not reveal the society's ideas and values. Glancing at Ameican women in the office today, we could always see the short sundress and obvious cleavige. Apparently this is a new trends for the beautiful women in the summer. Yet, this is not the society's whole ideas and values since every society has its own basic line in this morality and beliefs. It is inappropriate for a First Lady to wear summer sundress in front of media since she is now in a public eyes and represent women for a nation in which she is supposed to be graceful and indig
