可怜的我的第一次限时（期间草草回过一个短信），打字太慢，时间紧，有一个列子都没写上去，只写了458单词…… 思路很简单，大家一看就懂。
TOPIC: ISSUE28 - "Students should memorize facts only after they have studied the ideas, trends, and concepts that help explain those facts. Students who have learned only facts have learned very little."

I agree with the speaker that students who have learned only facts learned very little, while I don't think it is always right for students to study ideas , trends and concepts first before they memorize facts .
  It is obvious that studying ideas , trends and concepts that help explain facts is very important in the process of study and help the students to remember facts. As we all know ,to remember pure facts without any other information can be very difficult and quite boring . While the students know some ideas, trends and concepts helping explain those facts ,the procedure of memorizing will become easier and acceptable. On the other hand  , when studying ideas , trends and concepts , students may come to find some principles behind the facts which will help to solve new problems. The number of facts are often quite large and facts cannot be listed completely , while the number of principles are limited and students can master most of them .If  a student just memorize facts ,he will only be able to solve problems that have ever been, and will have no idea about new problems . In that case ,we can see studying ideas , trends and concepts is more important and useful than just remembering facts.
However, we cannot deny the facts that memorizing facts still plays a important roles in the process of study .It is true that we should remember letters, words, and grammar before we can complete an article. In this procedure we don't need to know that why the words should be spelt like that or why we have to write the sentence in that way . Language is established during usage and all we have to do is to remember the criterions and apply them in practice until we gain proficiency. Then, in this circumstance, we know that in some procedure of study, memorizing is the foundation.
In sum, memorizing facts and studying ideas, trends and concepts are both very important in the process of study and we cannot overlook either one.  If too many emphasis are put in memorizing, the study of students will become inefficient and of little use. Or , if students always try to study ideas , trends and concepts before remember facts ,just as the speaker say , they will fail to use facts skillfully .And in fact , to some subjects ,the scientific method to study  is to remember facts first ,then analyze.  For instance, when studying geography, students are always required to remember nations and regions first then study their features and development. So memorizing and studying ideas, trends and concepts should cooperate and can not be separated .
