The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives.

Does the study of history have value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives, as the speaker concludes?Admittedly, I agree insofar with the fact that learning from the history can help us improve our daily lives and lift our spirits.However, a far more compelling argument can be made that history is mirror that can guide and nature our behavior.Therefore, the speaker underestimates the value of history and confines the values only relevant to our daily lives.

First and foremost, this is no denying the fact that the study of history-relevant to our daily lives-has much values for human beings.With the examples of courage in the history, people can be inspired and gain much more successful experience and go through with their daily lives, who can also find appropirate solutions from history for current pressing problems.Learning failure experince from the history ,people have the ability to avoid the same failure occurred before. Moreover, whatever progress we have made are based on the inventions and ideas derived from the history.Therefore, if the history have no value with our daily life, we cannot imagine what we would have and what the world can be.

However, the speaker neglects the fact that many history, although irrelevant to our daily lives, also has the significant value that need further and profoundly studied.The world is a complex one, and changes of the technology and evironment will render people to face more and more issues which are immediate and pressing.In the scientific field, certain new methods and ideas are created from the ancient ones,indicating the history value.Here is a good example to illustrate this point appropiately.TDMA, a significant technology in the telecommunication area, is derivde from the old ideas that different people in the timeslot queue with the group mark can be transported and the easily differentiated in the terminal.Moreover, on the social level, through the study of reasons why many states were overthrowed, politicans can learn how to performs in their positions , and how to sustain their current success.

Last but not the least, it is important to realize that the objective of history study is not depending on whether it is relevant to daily lives,however, which is one aspect.In my opinion, the ture destination is the attitude with the history.Only through treating with the history objectively that can we learn the value experience, ideas and ideals from our ancients.Furthemore, we cannnot use the history experiece or solutions to address current problems without any considerations, which should be modified according to the situations.


In sum, from the analysis abvoe, the speaker only put emphasis on the history which is relevant to daily lives, regardless of other areas-scientific areas, political areas and so on.If we just researh on the history as what the speaker recommends, could we live a happy and rich life without any social problems ,political problems ? Could our society sustain the development ? Obviously, the result may be amazing and opposite.In fanal analysis, we should make full use of what we have learned from history to develop our society.
