Individual is not always complete, when facing some conditions, such as attracting, money, status and so forth, different people have distinguished reflection, some are controlling themselves, in contrast, some are releasing themselves. At this time, the moral and ethical moral standards could help people limit the ideas and behavior in a correct content and not to hurt other people or the community. The obvious example as we know is in business, as a leader in a company, he must have a permanent responsibility to the faculty to have more benefits, to bring back the society not only asking, to let the consumers have a longtime service after purchasing, while he makes more money. If he can not insist and adopt the ethical and moral standards, the reputation and the profits will not be continue. The recall of the Toyota vehicles just answer this topic, the serious confidence crisis makes the stock of the Toyota decline sharply.
And the same in the politic field, no individual want to give ballot to a man who have some bad records in ethical and moral standards. The famous example as we known is the Watergate affair by Nixon, before this affair, Nixon are still the president of United Stated, however, for the scandal, citizens are doubt with his confidence and honesty, and then he had to abdicate from the president, and became the first abdication president in the history of the United States. These examples and analysis informs that the ethical and moral standards are greatly significant for a leader.
Nevertheless, is the maintaining of the highest ethical and moral standards the only factors for a effective leader, it is a question. At first, the question in my mind is what is the effective leader, actually, as a effective leader not only obey the ethical and moral standards, but also have a clear goal, wise decision and the courage to act behavior to practice. If the only maintain the standards passively and do nothing practice, he is not a effective leader. As a leader, there are several factors to determine whether he is or not a effective, the ethical and moral standards is a important part, but not the only one.
In summary, ethical and moral standards is the baseline as a individual let alone to a effective leader, but as a effective leader, he must also have professional insight, obvious goal, hard effort, without these, he could only called a leader, but not a effective leader.
