The newly established Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB), University of Luxembourg, is looking for
Outstanding Junior Researcher (PhD student) in Systems Biomedicine

·
Initial contract 3 years, 40h/week
·
Student and Employee status

The PhD student will be a member of a highly interdisciplinary research centre, integrating experimental biological and system biology approaches in order to develop the foundation of a future predictive, preventive and personalised medicine.

Mission:
·
Obtain a PhD in Systems Biology or Biomedicine
·
Work under the supervision of Professor Rudi Balling or a Senior Researcher on a research project
·
Possible topics for a PhD thesis would be:
o
Systems biology approach to disease pathogenesis
o
Reconstruction and Analysis of disease networks
Profile:
·
Strong biological or mathematical background with a Master degree in Biology, Immunology, Neurobiology, Bioinformatics, or in Computer Science, Physics, Applied mathematics, Engineering or related disciplines
·
High interest in research in the area of systems biology with a special focus on the analysis of disease-related networks
·
Excellent working knowledge in English. Examinations of TOEFL and GRE are mandatory.
