I tend to agree with the speak insofar as that pragmatic behavior gurantees survival in any realm of life. However, in my deeper mind, it is presumptuous to regard a practical point of view as the only approach to success. In the long term, it is a behavior of narrow sight to just focus on short term profit. As far as I am concerned, idealism is actually crucial for success fundamentally.
Actually I think, my opinion of view is consist of two parts. To begin with, I will represent one respect of my view that pragmatic behavior is necessary for our daily work.  Any ambition will never be accomplished without a pragmatic behavior. It is the basic working quality to work in pragmatic. There are several reasons make my opinion more clearly. Firstly, I strongly agree with the speaker's claim that pragmatic behavior gurantees survival. If a person is not pragmatic, at the same time, makes daytime dreaming all time around. Such person may fail to accomplish anything. No working circumstance is adapted to him, and what's more, withou a constant job, there is no guarantee for his life. Secondly, for a person really has a pragmatic behavior, he may do his own work effectively and efficiently. For such behavior will contribute to the process of our aim little by little. Only in this way can we meet our achievement and aim.
Apart from the merits about pragmatic behavior to ensure our daily life, I tend to believe that the essential factor for success is still idealism. When it comes to study, I have my own feeling that idealism is totally different from pragmatic behavior. In our earlier time of education, it is too young for us to think more about our further. Mostly, we are focus on our school work in sight rather than pay much attention to our interests. Perhaps, the hard work we have done does have effect on our courses, which contribute to better grades at school. But we may feel aimless with the time passing by, for we don't know how to do and what to do after graduating from school. Regardless of perfect grades get at school, it can't gurantee the further of a life.
All in all, it is unilateral for the speaker just focus on pragmatic behavior. To make a balance on two aspects, I claim that both pragmatic behavior and idealism are important in any realm of life. Idealistic point of view points out what should we do in the further, while pragmatic behavior guarantees the possibility of achieve such aim.
