Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Some people think making sure that others (influential people or potential employers) know about your strengths and accomplishments can help you succeed, if you do not do this, you won’t have a successful life.
Recently, there is general discussion over ways for people to be successful.One question under debate is whether making others know about one's strenth and accomplishments can help he or she succeed. Some people disagree with the issue, considering people's demonstration may incur repulsion. However, contrary to their point of view is my heartfelt agreement with this issue, for I hold that showing our strengthes and accomplishments to others will enhance our job opportunities and promotion opportunities.
The first reason I want to put forward is that showing your merits to potential employers may help you to keep a favorable position in job market, that mean, a person may have more chances to gain a good job if his potential employers realizes he will be a good employee. As can be seen in the statics of inverstigaion provided by Yahoo, eighty-one percent of employees who thought she or he had a good job saied they had talked to the employers about their strengths and accomplishment. One participator of this investigation told the journalist that thanks to an e-mail he sent to his employer, he beated all of the competitors and got the job he is having now. This provides a tipical illustration of demonstration help enhance job opportunities.
Another important reason that should be noted is that letting influential people know your strenths and accomplishment will enhance your promotion opportunities. There is no denying the fact that leaders like to let excellent employee to get promotion. This give rise to a question to the leaders that which employee is excellent. We know that the one who have rights to make decision about promotion is very busy everyday, and he or she doesn't have time to know every employee's job performance. If an employee, for example, often talsk about his or her tasks he or she is doing to the leader and let the leader know how outstanding he or she is, the leader may know he or she is an excellent employee, and his or her promotion opportunities will be more than others.
Nevertheless, despite many advantages of making others know about one's strenth and accomplishments, it is not without its problem. Improper demonstration sometimes will incur repulsion from others. Just think if a person sent three e-mails to his superior, how his superior will feel? If his collgues know about this,won't they think he is a vain person? When all of a person's superiors and colleges dislike him, could he or she be succeed? He can't, of course.In this situation, he or she won't be succeed at least in this company.
Everyone is eager to be succeed. Only when we job opportunities and promotion opportunities can we win the competition of living and working. making sure that others know about your strengths and accomplishments is an excellent way to get the two, so that it is a necessary means device to gain a success life. While at the same time we shouldn't use improper ways to demonstrate ourselves.. |
