大家好,这是我第一次写Issue,自己写完后又仔细修改了一下,希望能有同学帮助我修改,留下链接,一定会回帖的,谢谢!
The way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests. You can tell much about a society’s ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people.
提纲:
开头统领全文,不能光单一看外貌和行为
把外貌和行为分开讨论,外貌不能决定
行为能在一定程度上反应一个人但是也会出现偏差
不管是个人还是社会,都要多方面考虑
结尾升华
It seems reasonable that a person's exterior often tells his status and character, while there is always a chance that others sometimes make wrong judgment according merely to one’s appearance since it is only one aspect making up a person. Likewise, some people do reflect the main value of a society, but the whole society cannot be judged simply by one or two people since it is a mixture composed of many parts, say people, system and government. Therefore, the understanding of this issue makes demands on more detailed and thorough analysis.
As far as I am concerned, there is a need to divide a person’s appearance and behavior apart, for they belong to different categories, so that the analysis can be clear and profound. External appearance is the first impression of someone else on you including face, hair, expression, figure, dress and some superficial observation of you such as whether you are a tidy person or whether you are in a good mood. It plays such a key role in judging a person at first sight that people from all ages tend to pay great attention to it. Just imagine, when you walk on the street and a girl's beauty suddenly draws your attention, which may be dressed with expensive cosmetics and clothes, could we say she is a kind girl or could we tell something about her attitudes and interests? At most, we guess that she is very rich and pays attention to dresses. There is no doubt that nearly everyone wishes to be attractive and remembered by others, hence some people tend to disguise themselves in order not to reveal their true identity.
Unlike appearance, a person's values and character can be mostly told by his behaviors since they are often related to the inner ideas and features of a person and can directly reflect his thinking and motives. Coming back to the above example, supposing that the girl throws rubbish on the street, we can tell that she is not aware of environmental protection; if she gives up her seat to an old person, we know that probably she is a kind-hearted girl; if she speaks aloud on the street and acts rudely, there is a strong possibility that she is ill-mannered and ill-educated. Such behaviors, albeit small, can tell immediately one certain aspect of a person but sometimes the judgment can also be mistaken because it is only one part of the iceberg. What if her friend has just an accident? What if she has just been fired by her boss?
From what have been discussed above, even a single person cannot be judged by both two aspects--although behavior is more reflective of his character than appearance--let alone a complicated society which embodies many individuals and values. One or two person cannot decide a society’s nature and values, but what if we view people as an undifferentiated whole? I follow the reasoning that people only form a small part of a society, and thus cannot reveal the overall ideas and values of society he belongs to. Other factors, for instance, systems such as education system, medical system, legislation system and tax system, government of every level, economic and transport infrastructure, entertainment facilities, social customs and beliefs, religion, history together with people form the whole society.
Admittedly, appearance and dressing styles do help us to judge a person on a short-term basis, while by means of communication and contact can give us an insight into his nature and essence. Moving on to a wider theme, people’s appearance and dressing styles do reflect the values and ideas characteristic of their culture, while only with a long-time residence and experience of the people, system, government customs and culture can we draw a exhaustive conclusion about a society. |
