To whom with ETS it may concern，

Your announcement of the writing test scores for the GRE on March 15 in Mainland China has stirred up huge reverberations among test takers in Mainland China. That is mainly because, according to our survey, that the average GRE writing scores for March 15 lowered up to 0.5-1.0, compared with the scores from the similar paper-based test last November. As is known to all, the results from tests given by ETS are widely accepted by universities for its fairness as the most important reason. We think that lacking sufficient proof of vast discrepancy in writing abilities of GRE takers of the two tests，their average scores should be basically consistent, thus to reflect the fairness of the test. The unusual discrepancy between the writing scores of the two tests, however, has directly thrown the March-15 GRE takers into an unfairly disadvantageous position in university admission. Furthermore, we have other queries about the rating standard and methods of the GRE Writing test. We believe answers to those queries will promote a more effective participation in GRE test.


Therefore, we would like to request：
1）to make public the statistic data of the GRE writing test scores from November and March tests;
2）to clarify the vast discrepancy to test takers should there be any existing in the scores of the two tests;
3）to make public the statistic data of the scores from computer-administrated GRE and paper-based GRE tests for fairness, and to clarify discrepancy should there be any, for we believe that computer-administrated GRE and paper-based GRE tests have different impacts on test scores. 4）to illustrate with examples of the circumstances under which the charge of articles identical in contents is applied.

我们又拿不出十分具体的证据。

request item 1 should be:
to make public the descriptive statistics(including means,variance,skewness,kuitosis,you can use the software SAS for the analysis) for both the writing results of Nov 2004 and Mar 2003,and compare the two results(maybe use Pearson product-moment correlations,皮尔逊积差相关分析，不知道是不是我记错了）so that we will be assured the the difference between the two tests  is not that distinct.

不是我卖弄什么专业知识，我是认为你们的意思是让他们公布所有的结果，那是不可能的，不如让他们说明两个考试结果的统计分析，然后再比较两个的结果。从统计的角度，我想我们只要得到哪些结果就行了。

我的说法不一定正确，只是个人想法。大家补充。

我也是3G的受害者，我最想得到的就是ets让我在考一次作文，最好是在计算机上考的。

一个晚上就收到了20封支持的信。。太感谢了。。
这次活动只是第一步，我们与ETS有理有利有节的斗争还刚刚开始。。。
我们要做的不是胡搅蛮缠，而是维护合理的权利，让ETS改善服务，完善游戏规则而已。。
我相信我们的行动会引起ETS有识之士的支持。。

但愿这次我们能够有所收获。。
