  哇。你竟然记起来第一个词了，好像就是disingenuous。是好像选项里back 有支持的意思比较明显，美剧里经常看到back up~

deplore > indeference程度关系很明显；
reverence和sympathy，如果sympathy是同情，那没啥关系；是忠诚，也没程度关系。

表示这道题很纠结啊。我当时好像选的是B，但是，B项很有问题啊：indifference本来就是无视，怎么可能还有muffled不muffled的程度呢？

D项也不对啊，压根读不通嘛，不再revered怎么可能still 同情啊，这病句一个嘛。revere是崇敬某人的意思，再怎么fading也不可能和sympathy扯上关系啊，换句话说，后来sympathy的就绝对不可能revere嘛。我个人觉得对一个曾经很revere的人表示同情，简直就是亵渎了这份崇敬。

所以如果C是indicated的话，应该选C吧。

尽管她不再公开声明自己的主张，但是公众对她的爱依然存在着，只是muffled了。

这个听通顺的，比如小克莱伯，离去世很多年前就不再指挥了，但是乐迷们对他依然很爱很爱，只是这种爱有最开始的狂热，变得深沉。

但是，如果那个词不是indicated，而是indicted的话，那么真的表示无语了这道题，没有什么完全合适的选项，随便选一个吧，支持B。

indifference还是可以感受到的，他是一种冷漠，算是一种感情吧，但是程度肯定低于公开谴责。
比如柯林斯语料库里有个例句：
If you accuse someone of indifference to something, you mean that they have a complete lack of interest in it.

no longer publicly reverenced 是说民众虽然不再（可以理解为因为某种高压而不敢）公开对她的观念理念表达敬意，但私下里其实仍然是支持她的观念理念的。

针对此题，以一个英语专业大四学生角度理解选择D更为恰当。 首先我们必须明确 应该选择同个方向的一组词 题干只有B D 2个符合题意。先说B选项，deplore在英美国家较为常用的意思是表示深切遗憾，悲伤。但是人家ETS就要考他还有一层的意思表强烈谴责。就像反义里面要考tear是飞速奔跑的意思一样。但是tear在美国口语中表奔跑意思是很常用的，个人感觉放在考试中不是很适合。再说indifference，这个词意思主要表一个人对一件事或其他人的冷漠态度，冷漠是这个词所达到的极限，因为很多时候indifference 是表公正 不偏不倚的态度。但我们必须明白，冷漠并不表示要攻击别人，批判别人，而是对其持不在乎的态度。此题应在deplore后面跟上表批评等程度较弱的词，一定要表现出有攻击批判之意。 再说D选项， revere表对其持强烈支持 赞同的态度，其程度强烈至崇敬。而Sympathy，相信大家都理解，表示同情，赞同，支持之意。在此题里，同情之意不是很符合，应该选择赞同，支持之意，明确表现出正面的褒奖之意。160# liqieva
