With the rapid development of all kinds of technology, people who live in the contemporary age seemly live an easier and more comfortable life comparing with their grandparents’ children time. But after close analysis, we can see that this is not the real case. The reasons are as follows.

Undeniably, people now have more chances to experience some new things and live a more colorful life. For instance, after the appearance of computer, people don’t need to do such time-consuming tedious computing work anymore. With the invention of so many electronic cleaning devices, women have so much time to entertain themselves. After a week’s boring work, people can drive to a far place to appreciate the beautiful natural landscape. All those things are dreams impossible in the grandparents’ children time. But this doesn’t mean our life is easier and more comfortable.

In the first place, with the development of technology, people’s life is more complicated than before, at least to some extent. Take remote controller for example, every electronic appliance in our house now has a remote controller, such as television, DVD, air conditioner, to name just a few. Sometimes we will spend so much time to look for the right one. Another good example in point is cell phone. Although the producer try their best to make the phone smaller and smaller, but the dialing button is also so small that we often dial a wrong number which will bring about some problem in our life. So, our life is not definitely easier or more comfortable than our grandparents’ children time.

Another important factor need to be considered is that the relationship between people nowadays is not as good as before. When I was a little girl, my grandmother often told me some moving stories happening when she was a child. When they encountered some difficulties, their neighbors would help them overcome the situation, when they wanted to leave their houses for a while, they didn’t need to lock the door. But today, we even don’t know the name of our neighbors. The number of robbery cases is increasing at a rapid pace, so we will check many times of the lock before we go out. Those things don’t make our life easier, but more difficult than before.

Last but not least, the pressure we face today is larger than our grandparents’ children time. When we were in high school, we studied hard to run in the single bridge of entering universities; when graduating from universities, we are under so much pressure to look for a decent job, which symbolizes your own status in the society; when we want to get married; we need to save enough money first to buy a spacious house. It seems simpler about job, marriage when our grandparents were children.

All in all, we now live in an era where we can experience so many new things and have more colorful life. Bur from what I described above, it doesn’t definitely mean that our life is easier and more comfortable than the life when our grandparents’ were children.
