A doctoral student is sought in the area of CivilEngineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Students with a Master’sdegree and a strong background in any or multiple of the following areas arepreferred, including soil-structure interaction, geotechnical earthquakeengineering, performance-based earthquake engineering and bridge engineering.Candidates will be fully supported by a funded project focusing on scouredfoundation and bridge performance modeling with the use of supercomputers. UMKCis an urban university (www.umkc.edu) sitting in the downtown of Kansas City,which are headquarters of many major engineering companies in the US.
