To begin with, it is undeniable that with the emergence of high technologies, such as satellite communication, mobile phone, and especially the Internet, people are now enjoying the convenience of acquiring information more quickly and more easily. For example, f you want to study how and when the American Revolutionary War happened, if you want to study the Declaration of Independence drafted by Jefferson, or if you want to study the experience of Lincoln in the Civil War, you should not spend several days in collecting relevant information in museums. The only thing you should do is sitting down before a computer and clicking the mouse. And then the whole American history will come into you eyes. How easy and fast it is! Accordingly, we may readily draw the conclusion that computer technology brings out the convenient accessing of large amounts of information.

On the second hand, however, it does not follow that computer technology leads to the negative consequence that people are less than ever to think deeply or originally. If one turn his or her attention to surrounding, he or she will go no far to find that the way people think deeply or originally does not change. For instance, the number of granted inventions is increasing every year; the number of plays, paintings and novels does not decrease; many original theories occur, such as quantum theory and big bang theory; human has made many great achievements such as Cloning, genetic engineering and exploration of outer-space, which need much deep concentration. Consequently, it is unwise to say people are less than ever to think deeply and originally.

In the third analysis, in a sense, owing to the employment of computer technology people are more than ever to think deeply or originally. First, high technologies free people from strenuous physical work and other uncreative works, which brings more free time to people. So people have more time than ever to focus on the important problem, which undoubtedly leads to that people think more deeply and originally. Second, because the countless information supplied electronically, people can more readily grasp the whole picture of the issue. The response from media towards 9.11 terrorism is a case in the point. It is the computer technology employed in media that quickly made more people know the terrible influence of terrorism. And it is the rapid accessing of relevant information about 9.11 terrorism, Americans are quicker to know how and why the terrorism exists. Finally, computer technologies improve the step that science marches, because high technologies facilitate the communication among scientists and the interconnection among different disciplines, which brings many scientific achievements.

In sum, as mentioned above, modern technologies facilitate the way we acquire information. However, the way people think deeply and originally did not have transformations. Furthermore, to some extent, high technologies facilitate the way people think deeply and originally.
